1 Graduating Class Profile Academic Year 6-7 Executive Summary Each summer, the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment prepares the Graduating Class Profile Report. This year s report contains information on the 6-7 academic year graduates. Basic demographics are included as well as information on how long the graduates had attended Southeastern and from which institutions students transferred. During the 6-7 academic year, Southeastern conferred a total of,87 degrees, an increase of 78 (4%) degrees over the 5-6 academic year. Eighty-four percent (84%) of baccalaureate degree recipients was White, Non-Hispanic, while sixty-three percent (6%) was female. Some highlights of the report include: Eighteen percent (8%) of the graduates who started as beginning freshmen attended Southeastern for four (4) years, which is four percent more than 5-6 graduating class. Over twenty-six percent (6%) of the transfers attended for four (4) years, while twenty-two percent (%) attended for three () years. The modal number of years at Southeastern was five for beginning freshmen and four for transfer students. Southeastern s leading feeder school was Louisiana State University Baton Rouge, followed by Baton Rouge Community College, Delgado, University of New Orleans, Northwestern State, and University of Louisiana-Lafayette. The top feeder schools for the 5-6 graduating class were Louisiana State University Baton Rouge, followed by Baton Rouge Community College, Delgado, University of New Orleans, Nicholls State and Northwestern State. The undergraduate program with the highest number of graduates in 6-7 was the B.G.S. in General Studies. This program was followed by B.A. in Management, B.S. in Nursing, B.A. in General Business, and B.A. in Marketing. In 5-6, it was the same set of programs and in the same order. The baccalaureate majors (at least 5 graduates) with the highest percentage of students who began as transfers were Elementary Education, Spanish, and Finance. In contrast, the majors with the lowest percentage of transfers were Psychology, Industrial Technology, and Family & Consumer Services. Sixty-four percent (64%) of the baccalaureate degree recipients started at Southeastern as beginning freshmen.
