2 Office of Institutional Research John Jay College of Criminal Justice Fall 2016 Fact Book John Jay College of Criminal Justice The Office of Institutional Research is pleased to present the Fall 2016 John Jay College of Criminal Justice Fact Book. The tables are produced from a variety of data sources. The tables in the section, Collegewide Trends, are part of the college's year-end Performance Management Report. Beginning fall 2013, additional breakdowns were added to report on admissions categories and demographics. The sections, Trends in Student Characteristics, Trends in Degrees Awarded, Trends in Retention and Graduation, utilize the CUNY Institutional Research Database of the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Budget, Finance, and Information Services, The City University of New York. Important note on Table 1. The IRDB queries that generate the data for Table 1 were created by CUNY Office of Institutional Research and Assessment to produce metrics for the PMP. They were expanded by this office for use in this Fact Book. Some of there queries require that special PMP tables be populated. However, the PMP was slightly downsized last year and will be significantly changed this coming year. As a result, not all tables designed to report PMP data are fully populated. In others, a lack of codes/flags make that query unsupported. Where needed, queries have been adjusted and processes developed to closely replicate the PMP data. Thus, beginning with the fall 2016 Fact Book, all Table 1 data for the current reporting year should be considered estimates in advance of the next PMP.
