4 Comprehensive Curriculum CUNY offers a comprehensive liberal arts education designed to create well-rounded graduates who are able to participate completely in our society. In short, our Science majors choose to take fine arts, acting, or photography classes and our aspiring artists choose from among biology, modern languages, and computer science classes. This commitment to a comprehensive core education is embodied in our Pathways Promise, through which all undergraduates across CUNY in every one of our 1,750 different academic programs complete 30 college credits of core classes that expose them to Creative Expression, Quantitative Reasoning, The Scientific Method, World Cultures and Global Issues, The Individual and Society, and The U.S Experience. When CUNY graduates leave our colleges, they are not only highly competent in their selected major but also able to converse confidently with others from different backgrounds and diverse academic disciplines.
