1 Opportunity Grant Scholarship Supports low income students pursuing technical programs that will result in high demand, high wage occupations. This is a competitive application process, please follow directions completely. Return materials to the Workforce Funding Office, located in the College Services Building, Room 102 A complete application must include: 1. Completed Opportunity Grant Application 2. A copy of Unofficial College Transcript (from BTC or other colleges if applicable) 3. Professional Reference Form (to be filled out by a current/former employer or instructor) Your Financial Aid documents MUST to be completed with the BTC Financial Aid office. Eligibility Requirements: FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid office that shows financial need Income eligible (see chart) Based on 2015 annual income as reported on your current FAFSA, parental income is factored in the income chart if a student is dependent. Family Size Annual Gross Income $24,120 $32,480 $40,840 $49,200 $57,560 $65,920 For each additional person, add $4,180 annually 18 years old or older Washington State resident GPA of 2.0 or greater (if applicable) Have earned less than an Associate s degree, priority given to 1 st quarter students in their program GED or high school diploma Highly motivated and committed to achieve career and educational goals All eligible high demand career paths are listed below: Computer Technology: Computer Networking Computer Software Support Heath Information Technology Manufacturing: Industrial Maintenance & Mechatronics Instrumentation & Control Machining Process Technology Industrial Technology: Electrician HVAC Welding Transportation: Diesel Technology Automotive Technology Health: Dental Assisting Surgery Technology Must have accepted a program seat and registered for program courses. At this time the Opportunity Grant will not cover pre-requisites for: Dental Hygiene Nursing Radiologic Technology Scholarship recipients may receive: Tuition and fees for up to 45 college level credits $1,000 for required books, supplies and tools
