Professor Olson does research on the effect of human resources and human-resource policies and practices on organizational performance; the impact of employer-provided health insurance on the labor market behavior of firms and individuals; and the causes of the decline in employerprovided health insurance in the U.S. He has recently written The Battle Over Collective Bargaining in Wisconsin and Elsewhere, and Getting Collective Bargaining Right. Professor Olson received his doctorate and master s degree, both in industrial relations, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He earned his bachelor s degree from the University of Minnesota.
