3 FACTS Grant & Aid What is FACTS Grant & Aid? FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment is an independent, third party cmpany that cnducts financial analysis t determine yur family s financial need t assist the schl is distributing financial assistance, grants and schlarships. St. Jhn Reginal Cathlic Schl, the Archdicese f Baltimre, Frederick Cunty Parish Tuitin Assistance Fund and FOCE receive a cnfidential reprt utlining yur financial situatin based n the infrmatin btained in yur applicatin and supprting tax dcuments. This infrmatin, alng with yur family s ttal tuitin amunt, is used t determine tuitin assistance awards.

In the FACTS Grant & Aid sectin, click n the link Start Applicatin t begin the applicatin prcess. Be sure t select the 2018/2019 schl year. If yu d NOT have a FACTS Tuitin accunt, click n the link fr FACTS Grant & Aid under QUICKLINKS t set-up an accunt. Must be re-enrlled/enrlled fr the 2018/2019 schl year t be cnsidered fr financial assistance. $30.00 applicatin fee.

6 AOB Assistance Tuitin assistance frm the AOB will be distributed using the FACTS Grant & Aid analysis prgram. Deadline t Apply: Families need t cmplete the FACTS applicatin prcess by February 28 th fr AOB cnsideratin. Awards: Department f Schls will review all applicatins and send ut ntificatins smetime in April. Nte: The Frederick Cunty Parish Tuitin Assistance Fund and SJRCS will make their wn awards and send ntificatins t families.

7 Financial Assistance frm the Frederick Cunty Parish Tuitin Assistance Fund Requirements: Parish Assistance Yur family must be registered at ne f the fllwing Frederick Cunty parishes: St. Jhn the Evangelist St. Katharine Drexel St. Peter the Apstle St. Timthy St. Jseph-n-Carrlltn Manr Hly Family St. Ignatius St. Francis f Assisi/St. Mary Yur family must be an active parishiner, which includes sharing time and talent, and must cntribute financially n a regular basis either thrugh envelpes r electrnic funds transfer.

8 Parish Assistance Financial Assistance frm the Frederick Cunty Parish Tuitin Assistance Fund Deadline t Apply: Applicants must apply thrugh FACTS Grant & Aid by March 30, Must indicate Parish affiliatin n FACTS Grant & Aid Applicatin. Awards: Awards will be made based n family need and the requirements f the Frederick Cunty Parish Tuitin Assistance Fund. Multiple awards are distributed based n need. Parishes awards will be made by June 1, 2018.

9 F.O.C.E. Friends f Cathlic Educatin F.O.C.E. Grants SJRCS is given a certain # f grants t distribute need based. Schlarships Minimum f B average. 85% r higher n cmpsite scre n mst recent standardized test. Ms. Stevensn will ntify parents f eligible students by 3/16/18. FACTS Grant & Aid applicatin must be submitted fr schlarship applicatin t be cnsidered. Principal and Teacher input. DEADLINE: Cmpleted applicatin with ALL dcuments by March 30, N applicatins will be accepted after this date.

Kntt Schlarship Family legally resides in Baltimre City, Anne Arundel, Baltimre, Carrll, Frederick, Harfrd, r Hward cunties. Family is registered and active in a Cathlic parish in ne f these areas. Nw attends r has applied t attend a Cathlic schl in the fall Academic Requirements: 1 st & 2 nd Trimester grades. A/A+ in all majr subjects. 94 percentile r higher in Ttal Reading, Language, and Ttal Math n natinally standardized test (4 th grade). 94 percentile r higher in Ttal Reading, Ttal Language, and Ttal Math n natinally standardized test (8 th grade). Ms. Stevensn will let parents knw student eligibility the week f March 12 th Final applicatins, fr thse eligible, are due back t the schl by March 19 th The Kntt Fundatin will mail results n April 17 th, 2018

11 SJRCS Assistance, Schlarships & Grants Deadline t Apply: Must apply thrugh FACTS Grant & Aid by April 13, Awards: Schl will ntify families f awards July/August. Funding available thrugh SJRCS (need & merit based): Rising Schlars Schlarship student entering 6 th grade wh has earned Principal s List Hnr Rll recgnitin thrughut fifth grade. Carsn Etter Schlarship awarded t a student entering 4 th grade wh is prficient in Math & exhibits utstanding character. Annymus Endwment Schlarship awarded t high perfrming student wh may nt be able t attend SJRCS withut financial assistance. Principal s Schlarship awarded t any student K-8. Elit Kelly Schlarship - awarded t a kindergarten r first grade student.

12 SJRCS Assistance, Schlarships & Grants Funding available thrugh SJRCS (need & merit based) PRIDE Schlarship The PRIDE prgram serves children grades 3-7 wh have been diagnsed with mild t mderate learning disabilities. There is an extra fee fr this prgram. This schlarship cvers the cst f the additinal fee fr a student with financial need. Saint Junipera Serra Schlarship schlarship named fr America s first Hispanic Saint. Awarded t K Grade 6 student f Hispanic descent. Mustard Seed Endwment Schlarship awarded t any Pre-K thrugh 6 th grade student shwing financial need. Father Funk Schlarship awarded t any student in any grade that attends St. Jhn the Evangelist parish in Frederick. Margie Amede Schlarship - awarded t any student in any grade that attends St. Katharine Drexel Cathlic Church in Frederick. McSherry Schlarship Fund schlarship established in the memry f Mr. & Mrs. James McSherry. Can be awarded t any student in any grade. Christpher Walser Memrial Fund awarded t any student in grade K 4 th. Grve Schlarship awarded t multiple students shwing financial need. SJRCS Annual Fund - awarded t multiple students shwing financial need. Cathlic Family Grants Grants ffered by SJRCS t families wh require financial assistance. The amunt varies per year depending n funds available.

13 SJRCS Assistance, Schlarships & Grants Welcme Grant Students currently enrlled in public schl wh wish t transfer t St. Jhn Reginal Cathlic Schl are eligible t receive a tuitin grant f $2,000 ff the first year s tuitin and $1,000 ff the secnd year s tuitin. Limited number f grants are available frm Nvember 1 st thrugh March 30 th. Students in grades 2 nd thrugh 6 th currently enrlled in public schl are eligible. Active parishiner at ne f ur Reginal Parishes. Cmplete Welcme Grant Applicatin and submit t SJRCS.

14 Other Grants BOOST Schlarship Prgram The Bradening Optins and Opprtunities fr Students Tday (BOOST) prgram prvides schlarships fr students wh are eligible fr the free r reduced lunch price lunch prgram and attend eligible nnpublic schls. Students K 8 wh are eligible fr the free r reduced lunch prgram can apply Established in March 2016 by the Maryland General Assembly Administered by MSDE Schlarship Prgram will cntinue as lng as it is funded by the state. 15 SJRCS Referral Prgram Referral Prgram fr Current Families Did yu knw that yu can earn $ in tuitin credits fr every new student that yu refer t SJRCS? There are nly a few rules. The referred family must indicate n the New Student Applicatin Frm the name f the family that referred them. The $ Referral Credit will be awarded t the referring family nce the new student is accepted and begins schl at SJRCS. Referral credits will be applied t FACTS Tuitin accunts nce they are earned.

17 Anyne Can Earn Tuitin Credit with SCRIP! SCRIP SCRIP ffers gift cards r certificates frm ver 300 natinal and lcal retailers. They re the same gift cards that yu can buy at the stre, but yu earn tuitin credit with SCRIP gift cards when yu purchase them thrugh ur prgram.
