2 The University of Passo Fundo is a community Institution of Higher Education that was founded in 1968 to meet the needs of higher education in the countryside of the State of Rio Grande do Sul and to contribute to the regional development.

3 9 campuses Currently, UPF covers more than 150 municipalities, with 9 campuses in the northern region of the State. With approximately 20,000 students, the University focuses on teaching excellence, promoting research and extension besides seeking innovation technology, always helping promote citizenship and exercising humanization through actions involving the population. Through it, academics assist exchange students to be integrated into the university environment and the local community. In order to provide more comfort for exchange students, UPF offers the Program Host Family. Professors and academics host in their homes students from partner universities. AAII promotes the contact between students and host families, making the cultural exchange among the participants of the program possible.

11 Sport Promotion We speak the same language Through the Project Future Athlete, also available for exchange students, sports are encouraged. It is possible to take different sports such as volleyball, basketball, judo, karate, swimming, dancing, athletics, futsal, soccer and taekwondo. The daily communication and a better inclusion of the foreign exchange student in the academic environment are permanent worries of the University. This is why UPF offers exchange students the discipline of Portuguese for Foreigners. Learning Extension Exchange students can also participate in lots of extension projects offered by UPF, which are extracurricular activities involving the community assistance, such as the Inclusive Equine Education and the Voluntary Smile.
