The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Scheme in Marketing, comprising four programmes namely Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Marketing, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Digital Strategy, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Public Relations and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Retail and Service, aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and competencies for entry into a relevant career. The main objective of the Scheme is to provide specialised education in the fields of marketing. Graduates are expected to possess managerial skills and knowledge essential for success as a manager in the fast changing and digitalised world today and be capable of embarking on employment in a relevant profession. Graduates of Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Marketing, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Digital Strategy, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Marketing and Public Relations and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Retail and Service, are considered to have met the education requirements for full membership of the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing (HKIM) =. = HKIM reserves the right to change the requirements. 2 A recognised Associate Degree or a Higher Diploma or equivalent qualification^. Those who do not possess the above-mentioned qualifications but have reached the age of 25 before 1 September, in the year in which they seek admission, may apply as mature applicants. Mature applicants should possess relevant work experience in senior positions and have completed post-secondary studies in related fields. They will also be required to pass an admission test and demonstrate to the Admission Interview Panel their ability to complete the programme. ^ The main medium of instruction of the study programmes concerned should be English. Applicants who have completed programmes with other languages as the main medium of instruction are required to attain the following English Language requirement: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550 (paper based); 80 (Internet based). Commencement 3 September 2018 Students are required to complete the following requirements with satisfactory results for an honours degree: Award Marketing / Digital Strategy / Public Relations Requirements General University Requirements (GUR) 2 Cluster Area Requirements (CAR) subjects (including 1 designated as China-related)+, 3 credits each 1 Service Learning (SL) OR Free Elective subject ~ Up to 3 Language and Communication Requirements (LCR) subjects (2 in English & 1 in Chinese), 3 credits each (for students who have not met the equivalent standard of undergraduate degree LCR based on their prior sub-degree studies only)* Discipline Specific Requirements (DSR) (Please refer to the table on p for details.) Foundation 1 subject, 3 credits each (for students from unrelated disciplines only) Scheme Compulsory 5 subjects, 3 credits each Award-Specific 8 subjects, 3 credits each Compulsory Elective 4 subjects, 3 credits each (at least 2 from the elective pool of students own subject area; others can be from elective subjects of any areas) Work-Integrated Education (WIE) (for full-time students only) 300 hours of work-based learning experience (Relevant work experience accumulated during or after sub-degree studies may be considered for fulfilment of WIE. Students will be invited to submit application for consideration after programme commencement.)
