The key objective of Arbutus College is to provide students with a unique business school structure not available in Vancouver. The uniqueness of Arbutus College lies in the matrix curriculum that allows for single courses to be applied to several programs resulting in flexibility of timetabling that allows students to select both mandatory and elective courses to meet their own schedule. Since its inception the college has been committed to the highest standards of education and has partnered with highly reputable organizations such as the Canadian Institute of Management (CIM), the Forum of International Trade Training (FITT), the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) as well as established linkages with universities and colleges. The Private Career & Training Institutes Agency (PCTIA) is the government regulatory body that oversees the operation of private colleges in the province of British Columbia. PCTIA accredited colleges go through a rigorous process where the quality of the programs, instructors and facilities are verified on annual basis. Accreditation by PCTIA is granted only to colleges that have met or exceeded the province criteria of educational quality.
