3 Member of The Texas State University System Office of Institutional Effectiveness It is the mission of the Institutional Research function to collect, analyze, appraise, report and disseminate data on behalf of the University, its executive administration and its educational leaders for the purpose of promoting evidence-based reflection, planning, and action. The IE office provides information and conducts research studies to comply with federal, state and other reporting mandates, and to assess policy, programs and special initiatives. For more information about the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, please see The data enclosed within this Fact Book is intended to provide information to the public concerning SHSU student enrollment. The source of the data is certified state reports submitted by SHSU Office of Institutional Effectiveness to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). Due to rounding adjustments, some totals may vary slightly when compared to THECB reports. Students enrolled in 100% online courses, who do not have Texas residency nor a Texas address, are not considered reportable to the THECB and are not included in this data.
