8 2. What Will You Need? Two Sets of Documents are required depending on your application/admission status: For Application (digital copies PDF!) Motivation Letter CV Transcript of Records (Provisional) University Degree Certificate (preferably here, by enrolment at the latest) Proof of English Proficiency (preferably here, by enrolment at the latest) 2 Letters of Recommendation (combined in one file) Proof of Practical Work Experience ( 6 Months) Supplementary Sheet International Academy Scholarship Applications ( Women in Engineering, Fellowship for Turkish Engineers ) For Enrollment (original hard copies) Motivation Letter CV Transcript of Records University Degree Certificate Proof of English Proficiency 2 Letters of Recommendation Proof of Practical Work Experience ( 12 Months) GRE (only for CAME, MME-EPS, Textile Engineering) APS Certificate (for Students from Chinese University) 8

9 Documents for Application Why do I need Practical Work Experience? The RWTH International Academy s Master s degree programs are executive education programs. Work experience is an integral part of our students' profile. We generally expect 12 months of experience before enrollment in September. Who can write a Letter of Recommendation for me? Your Letter of Recommendation can be from an academic or professional source, i.e. a professor/lecturer at university or a superior at work. Is there a standard form for the Letter or Recommendation / Motivation Letter? There is none. However, please read our tips in the Application Information section on our website. 9

10 Documents for Enrollment The final deadline for the following documents is the day of enrollment! University Degree Certificate Proof of English Language Proficiency GRE (only for CAME, MME-EPS, Textile Engineering) However, we recommend to submit these documents as soon as possible. Ideally, you have them at hand during the application process already. Additionally, you must bring all the application documents in hard copy to enrollment! 10

11 Academic Application Requirements What are the general Academic Application Requirements that you must meet? Bachelor of Science or similar (B.Sc./B.Eng./B.Tech.) related to your desired study program awarded by an internationally recognized university-level institution Very good performance in your undergraduate studies Specific subject requirements are defined individually by each program and define the admission requirements (please visit the Application Information section on our website. 13 Create an Applicant Account Go to and register as an applicant: You will receive a confirmation following your registration:

14 Log in and enter a New Application 3 Get started using your login and password 4 Enter a new application Start of Course 5 Select NO 6 14

15 Select your degree program & fill in your information Complete your educational background 7 8 Be sure to select Further Training Studies Select NO 5 15

16 Fill in and Upload the Supplementary Sheet Download the interactive PDF (provided in this section) and open it using the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (please download the latest Adobe Reader version!) 9 New pages unlock only once you fill in the final field of each page (5 page total). Save the completed sheet as an interactive PDF and upload it into the provided field. 16

17 Double check & Submit your Application 10 The application process is entirely paperless, so please refrain from sending any documents by post! Check the box and click SEND 11 17

18 Check your Status with the Self-Service View Receiving feedback through the Application System from the Admissions Office

19 Use your Self-Service View to follow the assessment (1) - Complete Documents After submission of your application, the system marks your application as received electronically : Once your application has been imported by the admission officer, your documents are under perusal: 19

20 Use your Self-Service View to follow the assessment (2) Incomplete Documents If your documents are not correct or incomplete, you are informed accordingly and required to take action: 20

21 Use your Self-Service View to follow the assessment (2) Incomplete Documents Check the drop-down menu, which document does not suffice the requirements: You can upload a new document right there until 1 March 2018! It may take some time until that new document is reassessed. Please be patient! 21

22 Documentation completed Once all required documents are checked successfully for completeness, your selfservice view will look like this: What now? Your work is done for the moment! Consequently, you need to BE PATIENT until you receive further feedback from the admissions office. We will keep you updated! (e.g. when you enter the next evaluation phase.) 22

23 Final Remark Do it right the first time! We cannot exchange, update or upload documents for cosmetic improvements : Spelling mistakes Revision of voluntary data Addition of voluntary data Inclusion of voluntary documents. Please KEEP CLEAR of these requests. When you click on the SEND button, you have agreed to submit a carefully composed and complete application! 23
