2 Welcome to Notre Dame Sixth Form Located in the heart of Norwich city centre, Notre Dame Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses to help prepare you for the next steps in your life. Our school is ful of support, high standards of teaching and a wealth of extracurricular activities for you to enjoy and be inspired by.

4 Why choose Notre Dame? We are a welcoming and engaging sixth form our teachers care about meeting your individual needs. As well as the traditional subjects like Maths, English and Science, we have a wide range of courses available to inspire academic growth and to challenge your skills. From Drama, Textiles and Art for the creatives out there, to Politics and Philosophy & Ethics for big thinkers. We ve made sure the Sixth Form is full of support to help you when things get hard. Our Sixth Form pastoral team, Chaplaincy and MAP are available to ease any pressure or worries, and help make sure your time at Notre Dame is a happy one. Our aim is to help you fulfil your potential and to make sure you have all the support you need.

7 Your campus at the heart of the City Notre Dame is an exciting, vibrant campus, nestled in the centre of Norwich. Surrounded by an unsurpassed breadth of heritage buildings, two stunning cathedrals, international galleries and popular theatres, Norwich is a historic city that s alive with culture and entertainment possibilities. You ll find everything the city centre has to offer in easy walking distance, including the Millennium Library at The Forum for in-depth research; a number of local restaurants should you want to pop out for lunch; and an award-winning breadth of shopping options just around the corner. And you don t need to worry about how to get here; we re conveniently located on the same road as Norwich City Bus Station and the train station is only a 15-minute walk away. Having a city-centre campus is a real plus and adds to your student experience.

8 The Sixth Form experience Your school day begins with registration at am. The rest of your time will be divided into five timetabled periods, which rotate every fortnight, with a morning and lunchtime break (most days will have private study slots between lessons). With the city on your doorstep, you re free to pop out to study, have meetings or grab lunch when you are not in class. While on campus, we ve a range of social spaces and facilities for you to use, too. Centre6 common room This relaxed social space has free Wi-Fi and is the perfect place to get comfortable, catch up with friends or meet to tackle group projects. Learning facilities The library, Learning Resource Centre (LRC), is open from 8 am, five days a week. The LRC is a quiet study area with dozens of work stations, a computer room reserved for Sixth Form students, newspapers, DVD rental and more. We also have a number of spaces located throughout the school for group study. Sports If you want to stay fit and healthy, we have all-weather tennis courts, a gym, basketball courts and school teams for you to get involved in. Catering If you re staying on campus for lunch, you ve got a choice of food outlets and refreshment facilities across the campus, including the School Refectory, Quick Picks, Centre2 and the Centre6 common room.

10 Helping you prepare for the future Here at Notre Dame, we have a dedicated Careers Education, Information & Guidance (CEIAG) department who ll work closely with you to make sure you re ready for your future. Whether applying to university, diving into employment or considering a gap year, they can help you get organised and prepared. For those thinking of applying to Oxbridge or Russell Group universities, we ve also got The Renaissance Project a series of events in which we invite Notre Dame alumni back to the college to host meetings and debates, and share their experiences with interested students. We also have the EPQ, which is offered to all Year 12 students on target with their core study. This gives you an additional qualification, which shows employers and universities you have the personal and organisational skills that they are looking for.

12 Exciting opportunities and inspiring activities As well as getting a high-level education, we want everyone to enjoy their time at Notre Dame. Pulp Studio is a way you can kick-start your creative career and get to know your peers. Every week, a group of creative students meet up to write, design and distribute Pulp our termly student magazine. To give you a taste of different cultures and new environments, we run several overseas excursions throughout the year. Some are key to your courses, like our politics students visiting America and our foreign language exchange visits. Others are organised to showcase your skills, like our music department playing at Lake Garda in Italy. You can find out more about upcoming school visits on our website. Every fortnight we set aside one hour of your timetable as an Enrichment Hour. We invite a local professional into the school to try to help you better understand the jobs market and share their work experiences. You can find out more about this on our website. We also take part in the Young Enterprise programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to set up and run your own company for one year under the guidance of a local business. 15 Sixth Form Studies Designed to bridge the gap between A-level and GCSE study, Sixth Form Studies looks at relevant PSHE topics, while you engage in community service and support learning elsewhere in the school. You have three guided options for studying at Notre Dame Sixth Form. 1. If you are predicted 56 GCSE points or above: Select one A-Level from each block (you can study three if you wish, this is purely guidance). 2. If you are predicted points: Select three A-levels (one per block) plus Sixth Form Studies. 3. If you are predicted points and would like to continue with Maths without taking the full A-Level: Select three A-Levels (one per block) plus Maths Studies as an additional.
