1 32 Academic Regulatios 5 C H A P T E R ACADEMIC REGULATIONS ACADEMIC STANDING A studet s status may fall withi several categories ragig from the ackowledgmet of highest hoors to dismissal, the latter resultig i separatio from Ohloe College. The categories are as follows: Hoors (Presidet s List, With Hoors, ad With Highest Hoors), Clear Stadig, Probatio (Academic ad Progress), Subject to Dismissal (Academic ad Progress), ad Dismissal (Academic ad Progress). Hoors A studet who achieves outstadig scholarship i ay semester (3.20 or higher i six or more uits ad whose cumulative GPA is 2.00 or above) will receive the distictio of beig placed o the Presidet s List. A studet with a cumulative grade poit average i all college work applied toward the degree betwee 3.20 ad 3.49 iclusive will graduate With Hoors. A studet with a cumulative GPA betwee 3.50 ad 4.00 iclusive will graduate With Highest Hoors. These otatios will be icluded o the diploma ad the trascript. Clear Stadig A studet whose last completed semester GPA ad cumulative GPA are 2.00 or higher ad whose accumulated uits of W (Withdrawal), NP (No Pass), ad/or I (Icomplete) do ot reach or exceed 50 percet shall be i Clear Stadig. Probatio A studet who has attempted 12 or more semester uits shall be placed o Probatio whe: Academic A studet ears a cumulative GPA of less tha 2.00 durig the Fall or Sprig Semester shall be placed o Academic Probatio the followig semester. A studet shall be removed from probatioary status whe the cumulative GPA reaches 2.00 or higher. Ay studet whose cumulative GPA remais below 2.00 will cotiue to be o Academic Probatio as log as the GPA is 1.75 or higher. Progress The percetage of all uits attempted for which etries of W (Withdrawal), I (Icomplete), ad/or NP (No Pass) are recorded reaches or exceeds 50%. A studet shall be removed from probatioary status whe the percetage of all of the uits i which the studet has erolled, for which etries of W, I, ad/or NP are recorded, is below 50%. Subject to Dismissal A studet will be subject to dismissal whe: Academic A studet has attempted 12 or more semester uits ad ears a cumulative grade poit average at Ohloe College of less tha 1.75 for two cosecutive semesters. Progress A studet will be subject to dismissal 12 or more uits shall be placed o Progress Subject to Dismissal whe the percetage of all uits attempted for which etries of W, I, ad/or NP are recorded reach or exceed 50% for two cosecutive semesters.

Notificatio of Academic/Progress Status Studets who are o Probatio, Subject to Dismissal, or Dismissal shall have such statuses prited o their academic records (trascripts). Couselig/Academic Advisig for Probatioary Studets Each studet who is o Probatio ad/or Subject to Dismissal should meet with a couselor to determie the cause of the below average performace, ad to take steps to esure the below average performace does ot cotiue. The Studet Success Program was created to assist studets with this process. Steps to prevet recurrece of further below average work will iclude a probatio workshop, ad may iclude a Persoal Developmet (PD) course, further aptitude ad/or iterest assessmet, a chage of objective, ad/or greater diligece o the part of the studet. Reistatemet Ay studet who has bee dismissed after havig bee placed o Dismissal status may petitio for reistatemet uder the followig coditios: A studet who is dismissed because of a cumulative GPA of less tha 1.75 for three cosecutive semesters may petitio for reistatemet if the studet s semester grade poit average durig the last semester is 2.00 or higher. Petitios are available from ad submitted to the Couselig Departmet. Approval of this petitio may require oe or more of the followig stipulatios: attedig a Studet Success Workshop; completig a comprehesive Studet Educatio Pla approved by a couselor; limitig the umber of uits i which the studet may eroll; completig successfully a Persoal Developmet (PD) course; submittig midterm progress reports from istructors of all curretly erolled courses; achievig a grade poit average of 2.00 or higher at the ed of each semester. Studets readmitted by petitio will cotiue to be o Dismissal status for their readmitted semester of erollmet. Studets must cotiue to follow the procedures for readmissio each semester that they are o Dismissal status. 5 ACADEMIC REGULATIONS 33 Discipliary Dismissal from Class or the College Ohloe College, guided by the Califoria Code of Regulatios, regards the followig as causes for discipliary measures which may lead to dismissal from class or from the College: excessive abseces; serious lack of academic effort; usatisfactory coduct; violatio of ay state law or muicipal ordiace o the College campuses; ad actio detrimetal to the best iterests of the College. Readmissio of a studet dismissed for discipliary reasos is depedet upo favorable admiistrative actio. Source: Commuity College League of Califoria Ohloe College is committed to the provisio of educatioal opportuities for all people of the commuity of post high school age relative to their preset eeds ad regardless of previous performace. A erolled studet may petitio to have previous substadard (D ad F) Ohloe College coursework (grades ad credits) excluded from GPA ad uits completed calculatios, if that work is ot reflective of the studet s preset ability ad/or level of performace. Studets cosiderig Academic Reewal should also ote the procedures for repeatig a course described o page 35. The permaet academic record shall be aotated i such a way that all work remais legible. Withi this commitmet ad i accordace with its ecouragemet ad support of lifelog learig, the College has developed the followig regulatios ad procedures for academic reewal. 1. The maximum umber of terms of work excluded shall be two semesters or three quarters. 2. Such exclusio shall be for substadard coursework (classes i which grades of D or F were assiged); a studet may petitio to have some or all of the substadard coursework i a term excluded. 3. A studet must complete 15 uits of Ohloe College coursework after the most recet term for which academic reewal is sought ad prior to petitioig for academic reewal. All Ohloe College coursework take after the most recet term for which academic reewal is sought must be completed with a grade of C or higher. 4. A studet who receives a substadard grade i a class or classes after the term(s) for which reewal is sought may repeat the class(es) for a higher grade i order to meet this requiremet. Studets are resposible for provig that past substadard grades do ot reflect their preset ability ad/or level of performace. 5. A miimum of three years must have elapsed sice completio of the most recet term for which academic reewal is sought ad the petitio for academic reewal is submitted. The 15 uits metioed above may be completed withi the three years. 6. The opportuity for academic reewal through the exclusio of the previous college work refers to previous work at Ohloe College ad/or other colleges. Ohloe College recogizes that this policy is a iteral policy ad i o way bids ay istitutio that may receive a studet who has had academic work excluded by this policy. Applicatios for Academic Reewal may be obtaied from the Office of Admissios ad Records o the Fremot campus ad are available olie at Completed petitios eed to be submitted to the Office of Admissios ad Records o the Fremot campus (Buildig 7, secod floor). Trascripts of the previous work for which exclusio is requested must be o file i the Office of Admissios ad Records prior to petitioig.
3 34 5 ACADEMIC REGULATIONS STUDENT CLASSIFICATIONS Studets are classified i terms of the umber of uits they have completed ad the umber of uits i which they are curretly erolled. Freshma: Sophomore: Full-time: Part-time: Half-time: A studet who has eared from 0 to 29.5 semester uits of college credit A studet who has eared from 30 to 60 semester uits of college credit A studet erolled i 12 or more semester uits A studet erolled i 11.5 or fewer semester uits A studet erolled i 6 or fewer semester uits STUDENT LOAD/OVERLOAD GUIDELINES A studet s load is defied as the total umber of uits carried i ay oe semester. Fiftee uits costitute the ormal semester load. Permissio to carry a load of more tha 17.5 uits durig Fall or Sprig Semesters may be grated by a couselor if a studet has the recommeded miimum GPA. Part-Time Full-Time Overload Fall/Sprig Summer Studets requestig a overload must have a cumulative grade poit average of 3.20 or higher ad must have completed at least 15 uits of college or uiversity coursework after graduatio from high school. Studet erollmet history will also be cosidered. For example, studets who have withdraw from several classes, especially durig terms i which previous overloads have bee grated, may be deied permissio to eroll i a overload for the followig term. GRADES I ay course offered at Ohloe College, the istructor of the course shall determie the grade eared by each studet i accordace with gradig symbols authorized for use by the Califoria Code of Regulatios ad adopted by the Board of Trustees of Ohloe College. The awardig of a grade to a studet is the resposibility of the istructor of the course i which the studet is registered. The eared grade as assiged by the istructor shall be fial ad shall become a part of the studet s permaet record. The determiatio of the studet s grade by the istructor shall be fial i the absece of mistake, fraud, bad faith, or icompetecy, per of the Califoria Code of Regulatios. Grades are available to studets olie via WebAdvisor ( withi approximately 10 days after the semester eds. Gradig System (per Califoria Code of Regulatios, Title 5, 55023) Ohloe College uses the followig letter grade system for evaluatig the quality of studets work: Evaluative Grades Symbol Defiitio Grade Poits A Excellet 4 B Good 3 C Satisfactory 2 D Less tha satisfactory 1 F Failig 0 P Pass (At least satisfactory; uits awarded 0 ot couted i GPA. NP has the same meaig as NC as that symbol was defied prior to Jue 30, 2007.) No-Evaluative Grades Symbol Defiitio Grade Poits I Icomplete 0 IP I Progress 0 MW Military Withdrawal 0 RD Report Delayed 0 W Withdrawal 0 Grade Poit Average (GPA) The grade poit average is computed usig the followig formula: divide the umber of grade poits eared i classes where grades were awarded by the umber of uits attempted i those classes. Uits eared i Pass/No Pass classes or ay uits eared i o-evaluative graded classes should ot be icluded. Pass/No Pass Optio May courses offer a studet the optio of a letter grade or Pass/No Pass. This optio allows studets the opportuity to explore courses outside the curret major iterest without udue cocer for the grade poit average. A maximum of 15 uits of Pass/No Pass may be applied towards Geeral Educatio for the associate degree. Courses take o a Pass/No Pass basis caot be used to satisfy the Major Field requiremets for a associate degree or Certificate of Achievemet ad may ot be accepted for trasfer by baccalaureate istitutios. Uder this policy, the College offers: 1. Some courses solely for Pass/No Pass. These courses are idetified by the code CR i the course descriptio i this catalog, i the Class Schedule, ad i WebAdvisor. The credit grade is awarded to idicate the completio of such a course with a C or better grade. A Pass grade will apply toward the 60 uits required for graduatio, but will ot affect the studet s grade poit average. Courses i which a No Pass grade is eared will receive o uits, will ot apply toward graduatio, ad will ot affect the studet s grade poit average. 2. Some courses solely for a stadard letter grade. These courses are idetified by the code GR i the course descriptio i this catalog, i the Class Schedule, ad i WebAdvisor. 3. Some courses i which the studet may choose to complete the course for either Pass/No Pass or for a stadard letter grade. Studets may ot chage their choice of gradig method oce the deadlie has passed. The same provisios described uder (1) above apply to GC courses. If the studet does ot submit the Pass/No Pass Authorizatio Form to the Office of Admissios ad Records o the Fremot campus or the Studet Services Ceter o the Newark campus by the deadlie posted o the Academic Caledar i the Class Schedule ad o the Admissios ad Records Web page ( academiccaledar.html), a stadard letter grade will be awarded. A studet is limited to oe Pass/No Pass course per semester i additio to Basic Skills, guidace, ad Physical Educatio courses ad/or to courses offered oly for Pass/No Pass. A maximum of 15 uits of Pass/No Pass courses may be attempted. The decisio to take a class Pass/No Pass is irreversible after the deadlies listed o the Academic Caledar i the Class Schedule ad o the Admissios ad Records Web page. Icomplete Grades A Icomplete grade may be assiged by the istructor oly whe a studet has failed to complete the fial examiatio, a fial class project, or a term paper because of illess or a uforesee persoal emergecy. It is the studet s resposibility to cotact the istructor i such cases. Whe such coditios exist, the istructor ad studet must complete a Icomplete Grade Cotract which outlies the work to be completed withi oe academic year. The completed cotract must the be submitted to the Office of Admissios ad Records o the Fremot campus. Whe the work has bee completed as outlied o the cotract the istructor will submit a Chage of Grade form to the Office of Admissios ad Records o the Fremot campus. Studets who do ot complete the cotract will be assiged a grade of F after the ed of the term i which the Icomplete was give. Studets may ot re-eroll i a course i which they have a Icomplete grade. Studets may preset evidece of exteuatig circumstaces to support a request for a extesio of the Icomplete time limit. Petitios must be received before or by the ed of the term i which the oe-year time limit expires. Auditig Studets wishig to audit a graded credit course may do so uder the followig coditios: Course attedace as a auditor shall be permitted oly after studets desirig to eroll i the course for credit toward a certificate or degree have had a opportuity to eroll. Course attedace as a auditor shall be permitted oly after approval has bee obtaied from the istructor of the course. No studet auditig a course shall be permitted to chage his/her erollmet i that course to receive credit for the course. The studet has paid the appropriate erollmet ad/or audit fees at the Cashier s Office o the Fremot campus. The audit fee shall be $15.00 per uit per term ad is ot refudable. Studets erolled i credit classes for 10 or more uits per semester shall ot be charged a fee to audit 3 or fewer uits per term. REPETITION OF COURSES For Credit Geerally, courses are ot repeatable for credit. Some specified courses may be repeated for credit. These courses are desigated by the word Repeatable i the Ohloe College Catalog, Class Schedule, ad WebAdvisor ( advisor.ohloe.edu). The umber after the word Repeatable idicates the umber of times the course may be repeated for credit. Erollmet will ot be allowed i a o-repeatable course that was previously completed with a grade of C or better. Erollmets will also ot be allowed i a course that has already bee repeated the maximum times allowed, per Title 5 of the Califoria Code of Regulatios. All repeat policies are eforced through WebAdvisor ad studets will be blocked from registerig for courses whe the maximum umber of erollmets has already bee attaied. A course with a letter grade, icludig a W, couts as a erollmet. Per Califoria Code of Regulatios 58161, effective Summer 2012 a course with a letter grade, icludig a W, couts as a erollmet. If a studet receives a substadard grade (D, F, or NP) at Ohloe the studet will be allowed to eroll i that same course agai i order to successfully complete the course. A studet will be allowed three attempts, icludig W s, to complete the course. The third erollmet i the course at Ohloe will become the fial erollmet at Ohloe, regardless of the grade eared by the studet. Oce the course is completed with a satisfactory grade (A, B, C, or P) the course caot be take agai at Ohloe. For example: Durig Fall 2014 a studet received a W i ENGL- 101A. Durig Sprig 2015 the same studet received a F i ENGL-101A. The ext time that the studet takes ENGL-101A, regardless of the grade (A, B, C, D, F, P, NP, or W), is the last time that ENGL-101A ca be take at Ohloe College. To Improve a Grade Ay course may be repeated oe time to improve a substadard grade (D, F, or NP), provided that the studet has ot already reached the maximum three erollmets for the course. If a studet ears a substadard grade twice at Ohloe ad wats to repeat the course at Ohloe the the studet will eed to get permissio from the divisio dea i order to repeat the class agai at Ohloe. The studet will eed to submit a Studet Petitio Form with the divisio dea s sigature to the Office of Admissios ad Records o the Fremot campus. If the divisio dea approves the petitio the Admissios ad Records staff will register the studet ito the class. Whe a course is repeated to raise a substadard grade oly the most recet grade whether or ot it is higher tha the previous grade will be computed i the grade poit average. However, all grades, icludig substadard grades, whether couted i the grade poit average or ot, must remai legible o the studet s permaet record, per Califoria Code of Regulatios. A course i which a substadard grade was eared at aother accredited college or uiversity may be repeated as specified above. Grades eared as a result of course repetitio at other accredited colleges or uiversities are acceptable at Ohloe College. Uder special circumstaces repetitio of courses i which other tha a substadard grade has bee eared may be permitted with the prior approval of the Presidet of the College or desigee.
5 36 5 ACADEMIC REGULATIONS UNIT OF CREDIT DEFINITIONS Credit is assiged to courses based o the Caregie uit, which expects a studet to complete three hours of work a week durig a 18-week semester for oe uit of credit. Usually this equates to oe hour of lecture or discussio led by the istructor ad appropriate assigmets that would compel the studet to complete two hours of outside preparatio. Courses that require a laboratory compoet will require three or more hours of work i the laboratory each week for oe uit of credit. Ohloe College is o a 16-week semester. Therefore, a three-uit lecture course requires a miimum of 3.40 clock hours of classroom work each week for sixtee weeks, i additio to ay homework assiged by the istructor. Semester uits carry a differet value tha quarter uits. For the studet who comes to Ohloe with uits eared at a college or uiversity o a quarter system, or for the studet who iteds to go to a college or uiversity o a quarter system, the umber of uits eared will eed to be coverted. To covert semester uits to quarter uits, multiply the umber of semester uits by 1.50 to obtai the comparable umber of quarter uits; to covert from quarter to semester uits, multiply the umber of quarter uits by 0.66 to get comparable semester uits. CREDIT BY EXAMINATION A studet who has achieved kowledge elsewhere or who has a uderstadig equivalet to that required by oe or more college courses may receive academic credit by successfully completig a comprehesive course examiatio. To apply for Credit by Examiatio a studet must be registered at Ohloe ad be i good academic stadig. Not all Ohloe College courses are offered for Credit by Examiatio. Fial determiatio of which courses are available for credit by examiatio will be made by the faculty member(s) who teaches the course ad the appropriate divisio dea. Credit may oly be grated for a course listed i the Ohloe College catalog. Petitios for Credit by Examiatio are available i the Office of Admissios ad Records o the Fremot campus ad may be submitted durig the first three weeks of ay semester. Credit by Examiatio shall ot be used to establish the 12 uit residecy requiremet for graduatio or be cosidered Ohloe College credit for the purpose of meetig the six uit requiremet for a Certificate of Achievemet ad the 50% requiremet for a Certificate of Accomplishmet. Uits awarded through Credit by Examiatio are so aotated o the studet s trascript ad assiged a grade of Pass (P). Credit is ot give for ay course which the studet has previously attempted ad failed or for which the studet has previously sought Credit by Examiatio. Studets seekig advaced stadig i Registered Nursig or Respiratory Therapy based o certificates or liceses already held i those fields may challege a maximum of 19 uits (first year major courses i each program). Applicatios to qualify for Credit by Examiatio i Registered Nursig or Respiratory Therapy are made directly to the Health Scieces ad Evirometal Studies Divisio Office o the Newark campus. R.N. s seekig credit by exam for trasfer to a baccalaureate college or uiversity may challege first- ad secod-year major courses i ursig after completig six or more uits at Ohloe College. Please cotact the Health Scieces ad Evirometal Studies Divisio Office for further iformatio. Did you kow? Every year about 950 Ohloe studets trasfer to baccalaureate colleges ad uiversities! Veteras who have completed basic traiig, have bee hoorably discharged, ad submit a DD-214 form to the Office of Admissios ad Records o the Fremot campus are eligible for six elective credits ad will satisfy the Physical Educatio/Welless requiremet (Area V) for the associate degree usig the Ohloe College Geeral Educatio (Pla A) optio. Veteras who have completed service school traiig beyod basic traiig may be eligible for additioal credit after the Office of Admissios ad Records evaluates a official AARTS or SMART trascript. I additio to basic traiig credit, a maximum of 16 semester credits may be grated for military service ad traiig. Advaced Placemet (AP) Credit Other o-collegiate courses as recommeded by the America Coucil o Educatio (ACE) may be accepted for credit. A maximum of 16 semester uits may be grated i this category. Ay combiatio of the above caot exceed a total of 22 semester uits. Ohloe College recogizes the Advaced Placemet program of the College Etrace Examiatio Board. Course credit for geeral educatio requiremets, icludig certificatio for CSU GE ad IGETC, is grated for Advaced Placemet examiatios with a score of three or higher, if the appropriate Ohloe College Divisio Office has determied that the material covered i the Advaced Placemet course is comparable to a specific Ohloe course offered withi that divisio. Advaced Placemet credit may be grated for fulfillmet of Ohloe College s degree requiremets. However, whe a studet trasfers to aother college or uiversity that istitutio will routiely re-evaluate Advaced Placemet uits i accordace with its ow iteral policies. Please refer to the chart o page 38 to determie which Advaced Placemet exams may be couted toward Ohloe Geeral Educatio (Pla A) ad major requiremets ad which Advaced Placemet exams may be couted toward CSU Geeral Educatio (Pla B) or IGETC (Pla C) requiremets. Studets should cosult a couselor for specific questios ad cocers regardig Advaced Placemet credit. Studets must submit a official copy of their Advaced Placemet scores to the Office of Admissios ad Records o the Fremot campus i order to receive Advaced Placemet credit. Uits for which credit is give for Advaced Placemet examiatios shall ot be couted i determiig the residecy requiremet for certificates ad/or associate degrees. BASIC SKILLS COURSES Basic Skills courses iclude courses that are o-trasferable ad are ot associate degree applicable. Uits attempted, uits completed, ad grade poits for these courses are ot icluded i a studet s cumulative totals or are they used i calculatio of the grade poit average. All uits, grades, ad grade poits still appear o the studet s permaet record; however, these courses are idetified by a asterisk i the ote code colum. Per of the Califoria Code of Regulatios, studets may ot receive more tha 30 semester uits of credit for basic skills coursework. FINAL EXAMINATIONS Credit for Military ad No-collegiate Courses/Traiig Studets seekig credit for military service ad/or o-college courses should meet with a couselor to determie procedure for verificatio of credit ad applicability of such credit to their educatioal goals. Fial examiatios are give at the ed of each semester. Studets are required to take the fial examiatios for the classes i which they are erolled. No examiatios are admiistered prior to the regular schedule except uder extraordiary circumstaces. The Fial Exams Schedule appears i the prited Class Schedule ad o the Admissios ad Records Web page ( Studet requests for exceptio to the fial examiatio schedule shall be submitted to the Vice Presidet, Academic Affairs/Deputy Superitedet.
6 5 ACADEMIC REGULATIONS 37 CATALOG RIGHTS POLICY Pursuat to Califoria Code of Regulatios 40401, a studet pursuig a associate degree, a Certificate of Achievemet, or a Certificate of Accomplishmet may follow the geeral educatio ad major requiremets which are published i the catalog i effect at the time i which the studet first bega attedace at Ohloe College, or regulatios curret at the time the studet files for ad receives a degree or certificate. Exceptios to this policy are by the petitio process. Studets pursuig academic programs that require a separate applicatio process are assiged to the catalog year that the studet was accepted ito the program. A course i which a studet receives a W is ot cosidered to have bee completed. The precedig catalog rights are subject to the followig limitatio: studets who do ot complete a Ohloe course(s) durig a period of six cosecutive terms, icludig Summer Term, forfeit the right to follow the degree or certificate requiremets set forth i ay catalog prior to their resumptio of studies. For the purposes of this sectio, the effective period of a catalog exteds from the begiig of a Fall Semester to the close of the subsequet Summer Term. Please ote that Ohloe may require substitutios for required courses that have bee discotiued. FAMILY EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT (FERPA) Studets at Ohloe College are guarateed certai rights regardig their school records ad iformatio that they provide to the College, as grated by the Family Educatioal Rights ad Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), Sectio 438, Public Law These rights iclude: 1. The right to ispect ad review official college records directly related to the studet; 2. The right to challege the correctess of these records; 3. The right to have some cotrol over the disclosure of persoally idetifiable iformatio from the educatio records. These federal rights are desiged to protect the privacy of all studets. It is the policy of the College that except as permitted by state or federal law o record, file, documet, or other materials, or persoally idetifiable iformatio cotaied therei, shall be released to ay idividual, agecy, or orgaizatio without the express writte coset of the studet. The Dea, Erollmet Services has bee desigated as Records Officer, as required by the Family Educatioal Rights ad Privacy Act. Kidergarte-12th grade Paret/Guardia Iformatio Accordig to the Family Educatioal Rights ad Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, whe a studet turs 18 years old or eters a postsecodary istitutio at ay age, the rights uder FERPA trasfer from the parets to the studet. Studets who are erolled at Ohloe College are covered by the Family Educatioal Rights ad Privacy Act of Accordig to this legislatio, Ohloe College persoel caot release a studet s records or speak with parets ad/or guardias about ay studet s academic records without the studet completig the Release of Iformatio Waiver. The exceptio to this policy is if the studet is claimed as a depedet by either paret for tax purposes. Ohloe College reserves the right to require documets verifyig a studet s status as a depedet. The Release of Iformatio Waiver is available olie at Directory Iformatio Directory iformatio as defied by law icludes oe or more of the followig: studet s ame, address, telephoe umber, date ad place of birth, major field of study, participatio i officially recogized activities ad sports, weight ad height of members of athletic teams, dates of attedace, degrees ad awards received, ad the most recet educatioal agecy or istitutio atteded by the studet. Uder federal law, Ohloe College may release directory iformatio to the public. However, Ohloe College will still make available to the public ames of studets who are graduatig, the ames of studets who are placed o the Presidet s List or who receive hoors, participats i athletic evets, ad studets who receive scholarships ad other awards, uless the studet requests i writig to the Dea, Erollmet Services that his or her ame be withheld from ay such list. STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES Academic Progress: Fiacial Aid Recipiets There are specific academic progress regulatios for studets who receive fiacial aid. These regulatios are listed o the Fiacial Aid Web site at Academic Progress: Veteras Beefits Recipiets There are specific academic progress regulatios for studets who receive veteras beefits. Veteras should cosult the Veteras Office regardig these regulatios, as well as Academic Progress: Iteratioal Studets Uited States Citizeship ad Immigratio Services (USCIS) regulatios require that F-1 Studet Visa-holdig iteratioal studets make satisfactory progress toward completig their academic course of study. Attedace Studets should atted the first meetig of their classes to assure maiteace of their erollmet. Studets who eglect to atted the first or secod sessios of their classes may be dropped from class by the istructor. However, it is the studet s resposibility to drop classes that the studet does ot pla o attedig. Studets who do ot drop classes they do ot pla o attedig will be required to pay the fees for those classes ad may receive a failig grade. Regular attedace ad participatio is required of all studets erolled i courses at Ohloe College. This requiremet icludes regular attedace; completio of examiatios ad assigmets; ad participatio i class activities ad discussios. Istructors shall provide studets with writte statemets describig course requiremets, gradig stadards, ad course prerequisites. Regular attedace is a obligatio assumed by every studet at the time of registratio. Studets may be dropped from class by the istructor (up to the withdrawal deadlie) for excessive abseces, frequetly defied as cumulative abseces that equal twice the weekly hours of a give class. Studets have the resposibility for verifyig their erollmet status. If studets choose to withdraw from classes, it is their resposibility to do so olie via WebAdvisor ( by the deadlie posted i the Academic Caledar (
