1 BPA Admission Policy Purpose All applicants to BPA will be treated fairly and with the high standards of GEMS professional conduct ethos. BPA is an inclusive school that will evaluate the level of education of students on entry and determine where they are best suited as per their age, grade before assessing their educational need. This policy highlights the process of admission to BPA and the documentation required to enter a Dubai, GEMS school. Student Registration Process Step 1: To begin the application process, please submit your enquiry through the Online Student Enquiry and Registration page. Before accessing this site, you may wish to read the following guidelines providing simple instructions for completing the online application process. Step 2: Once you have completed the online application, you will receive an Enquiry number. Please print a copy of this Receipt and keep it for your records. If you cannot print this page, please ensure that you write down the Enquiry Number for all future correspondence and queries. Without the Enquiry Number, we cannot verify your Enquiry submission. An acknowledgement containing the next steps will be sent to the address you provided. Step 3: After receiving the acknowledgement containing your enquiry number, please follow the steps listed. You will be requested to pay a Registration Fee of AED500. This fee is non-refundable, non-transferrable, and non-deductible, and is required along with the requested documents, to proceed with the registration process.

2 It is imperative to submit the requested documents, listed below to the Registrar: 4 applicant s passport photos and 1 passport photo of each, Father and Mother (print the applicant s name clearly on the back of each picture) Copy of 3 years of school reports to include most recent school report (must be in English) Copy of Applicant s Birth Certificate (must be in English or Arabic) Copy of Applicant s immunization record Copy of Applicant s passport, UAE Residence Visa and Emirates ID Card(when available). Copy of Father s and Mother s Emirates ID Card (when available). The UAE Residence Visa, Emirates ID and Transfer Certificate are not needed at application processing time, but will be required at the actual enrollment. This is a required document for the registration of the application by the Ministry of Education in Dubai. Standardized Test Results (if available) Completed Confidential Recommendation form (Grade 1-12) Completed Language Background form. * * * The UAE Residence Visa and Transfer Certificate are not needed at application processing time, but will be needed at actual enrollment. These are required documents for the registration of the child by the Ministry of Education in Dubai. Reminder - Applications will not be processed until full documentation and payment of application fee has been received. Please note: an application submission with complete documentation and payment of the registration fee, does not guarantee a placement in our school. BPA Application Committee Once all the information above is received the Registrar will schedule an entrance assessment. This will be in the form of a one-on-one assessment if in KG-Gr1 or as a MAP test (Measures of Academic Progress) more information can be obtained from:

3 The following will be considered by the committee before the student is admitted to BPA: 1. Age Requirements To meet the age requirements of the admission policy for Bradenton Prep Academy, a student must have turned the age listed next to the grade level by September 15th of the Academic Year. BPA s Admissions Policy has required that a student be 4 years old on or before September 15 th as this allows students to be successful in this program. However, the federal authorities have said that we can accept applications from students who turn 4 on or before December 31 st. Each application will be assessed against BPAs entry requirements. Offers made, will be dependent on a student meeting these requirements and subject to seat availability. For this reason, new students may be required to complete an appropriate level assessment to determine placement and fit. 3. Previous Schooling

4 All new students must provide official documentation of previous school experience, report card, and test scores. All documents provided must be in English. The school may request certification of translation from the Consulate of the country in which the student last attended to meet admission requirements. 4. Special Educational Need All reports indicating any special educational need must be submitted at the time of application for full consideration by the Committee. A further WIDA assessment for ELL students or KETA assessment for any specific learning disability will be valuated at this time. If this is not a current report (in the last 18 months of application) then a new and updated report must be submitted in order to accurately measure your son\daughter s needs. The committee will then be able to recommend an appropriate support plan for your son/daughter while studying at BPA. 5. Tuition Fee Tuition and fees are payable in advance of attendance and are assessed in accordance with the fee structure established by GEMS. Tuition and fees are the primary source of the school s operating budget and therefore prompt payment is necessary to ensure the continuing quality of the school s programmes. 6. Payment of Fees Registration fee of AED500 is due at the time of application. This processing fee is nonrefundable, non-transferable, and non-deductible. Once confirmation of admission has been received, a one-time admission fee of AED5,500 (non-refundable, adjustable) will also be required to secure enrolment at Bradenton Prep Academy. Tuition fee invoices are sent to the fee sponsor on record, two months prior to the start of the academic year. Tuition payments can be paid in full, or are due on or before the 5th working

5 day of August for Term 1, December for Term 2, and April for Term 3. A penalty of 2% per month will be applied to the outstanding balances not paid by the required due date. If a student joins in the school in the middle of a term, the tuition fee applicable will be prorated, based on the number of full (commencing from the week of joining) weeks remaining and unexpired in the term. In addition to a 2% penalty on outstanding balances, failure to pay such fees may result in: Loss of the student s place in the school Withholding of their school reports, references, and/or examination results Temporary or permanent expulsion or exclusion from school 7. Payment Method Payments of fees and tuition are to be paid by cheque or wire transfer directly to the school bank account. An instruction regarding the wire transfer process is located on the side column of this page. 8. Refunds Tuition fees, once paid, are non-refundable except when paid for a full year and a student is withdrawn prior to commencement of a term. Attendance for any portion of a term will preclude a refund of tuition fees. Tuition will be refunded only after the parent or guardian has submitted the request in writing to the school admissions office. Tuition refunds are provided to the original payee. Please note, the registration fee and admission fee are non-refundable. 9. Student Withdrawals All students withdrawing from the school must submit notification of their withdrawal in writing to the Registrar office. A thirty (30) day notification period is required to ensure all necessary documents are ready.

6 10. The committee will take hours to make their decision on your son/daughter s application. It is imperative to have all documentation for a timely and accurate response. BPA Head of School Revised 2016
