5 HEALTH Licensed Practical Nurse-Women s Health (Position #HL0075 $ $ /Hr (Non- Requires a diploma from an accredited school of practical nursing; an unrestricted LPN license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing and at least one year of experience as an LPN. A copy of the LPN license will be required with the application. A valid driver s license is required. LIBRARY Director, Public Library (Position #GL0019) $68,283- $105,843 Annually (Not Overtime Master s Degree in Library/Information Science from an American Library Association accredited library school/program. Course work must fulfill requirements for certification by the N. C. Public Librarian Commission. Must have 10 years of progressively responsible professional library experience, including at least 5 years at supervisory & administrative levels. Requires N. C. Public Librarian valid N. C. Driver s License. MINIMUM PHYSICAL OR ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Excellent communication (oral & written) & interpersonal (confidence, discretion, respect, enthusiasm) skills; ability to exercise considerable judgement, leadership, diplomacy, & tact in dealing with colleagues, staff, & the public. 6 PARKS AND RECREATION Maintenance Aide- Grounds Maintenance (Position #GM5000) Part Time $10.88 per hour Part Time (Less than 20 Hours/week (Not Eligible for medical insurance, leave, or retirement benefits) Requires completion of high school or GED equivalency. Experience in parks and recreation or building and grounds maintenance preferred. A valid driver s license, without driving restrictions, is required. The candidate selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment. MINIMUM PHYSICAL OR ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to operate a variety of equipment and machinery. Must be able to physically perform basic functions such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, feeling, talking and repetitive motions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and might be exposed to heavy amounts of dust. Evening and holiday work may also be required, in addition to regular hours on Saturdays and Sundays. POLICE Telecommunicator (Position #CO0017, #CO0055) $ /Hr (Hiring Rate and While in training); $ /Hr (After completion of 6 months training) (Non Overtime This position requires graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalency. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. All applicants must possess the proper authorization to work in the United States and must meet the requirements set forth by the Department of Criminal Information for certification. All applicants must take and pass a typing test of 45 words per minute administered prior to completing the formal application. Applicants must also pass the CritiCall Personnel Selections Software Test. This is a job and task related abilities assessment test administered after the completed application is passed on to the 911Telecommunicator Background Investigator. Applicants must possess sufficient visual acuity and color perception to read and interpret multiple computer monitor displays. Applicants must be able to demonstrate sufficient range of motion, dexterity and hand-eye coordination to efficiently operate multiple keyboards and CRT workstations. Must have a clear, concise speaking voice for transmission over the radio, have good communications and computer skills. Must be able to hear and comprehend both telephone callers and radio voice communications. Must be able to become and remain certified: 1) by the Dept. of Crime Information, 2) a Medical Priority Emergency Medical Dispatcher and 3) CPR certified through the American Red Cross. Must be able to work 12 hour shift schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays. Personnel are subject to ordered overtime and standby scheduling. Candidates are subject to a 12 month probationary period. Final candidates selected must undergo a thorough criminal history background investigation; pass a drug screening test, audiogram test, visual test, medical physical, psychological and polygraph test prior to employment. 8 Relief Shelter Operator (Floater) (Position #SS5024) Part Time eligible for (Protective service workers receive an additional 5% incentive pay) $9.55 per hour (Non- Flat rate- Parttime/approx hrs./week) Sunday 9PM to Monday 8AM & alternating Sunday 1PM to 5PM.
