2 INTRODUCTION Shri Venkteshwar Institute of Technology, Indore, India has been promoted by Shri Prahalad Dasji Pasari Smriti Charity Trust, Indore in 2006 under the dynamic leadership and able guidance of its Chairman Shri Purushottamdas Pasari, Philanthropist, Educationist and Industrialist of Indore (M.P.). The major goal of the Institute is to impart a unique broad and interdisciplinary engineering and management education of highest academic quality. 2

3 This is achieved through an integrated curriculum that consists of a diverse set of Engineering & Management courses, academic as well as live projects, regular interaction with industry and personality development programs. The institute combines the freedom of academic institution with the strength of corporate sector. We interact with Industrial organisation and act as a resource centre for software, hardware, electronics and manufacturing industry. 3

4 Why Skill Development Course Introduced in Our Institute? Due to unemployment of student in last few year, continually we find reasons that student are not getting practical exposures through current university curriculum. Students think towards technical field is not promising at the last stage of studies. From School level Vocational Educational training must be started. Employers also compromised work quality and loss of revenue due to skill gap. Three things are critical to raise skill level- reforming the education system, promoting entrepreneurship, and supplying talent where there is a demand. After long consideration we selected certain vocational educational courses which broaden students mind towards technology from school educational as well as to develop live project in Engineering education. 4

5 TECHNO SKILL ACADEMY On 25th January 2015, we started Techno Skill Academy promoted by Shri Prahaladdasji Pasari Smrati Charity Trust and National Skill Development Corporation (N. S. D. C.), Ministry of Skill development, New Delhi, India. In this We started different courses Robotics, National Instrument USA LabVIEW Center of Excellence, CNC Turning, CNC Milling and Welding for class 6th to 12th, ITI, Diploma, Engineering and Science Students. 5

6 ROBOTICS EDUCATION This is era of advance technology. Normally in general terminology Robot means Men made person which works where human can not reach. But now-a-days in various Industries Robot work as an helper and in home also as an Made servant. Techno Skill Academy selected this course which can be taught from school level to research level. 6

7 NATIONAL INSTRUMENT LABVIEW CENTER OF EXCELLENCE This is an Very Important Vocational Education Courses where Engineering/Diploma students can develop projects and research work virtually. In N.I. LabVIEW we also go for Industrial Automation, Quality testing and Certification. Students get International standardized certification of CLAD from our Institute. 7

8 CNC TURNING, CNC MILLING AND WELDING Students can do CNC Turning, CNC Milling and Welding along with school study. So that they can study further with earning. This courses very useful for school dropout students. After this course they can join Industries and start their own business. 8

10 SOLUTION FOR COPE UP SKILL GAP AT SCHOOL LEVEL Today s children s are brilliant and making use of computers from class First/ Second. In school curriculum, some vocational course should be added. In school education children s should have practical based technical course, to motivate them towards technical thinking. This makes them technically sound in further studies in colleges. Up to middle class in school, student should learn at least a vocational course. During higher education in school in 11 th &12 th student should learn minimum 2 vocational course as per their choice. This will help students who do not study further and can start earning. 10

11 SOLUTION FOR COPE UP SKILL GAP AT HIGHER STUDIES Vocational training course to ITI, Diploma & Engineering students will solve employment problem large extent. Every Diploma/Engineering students should pass minimum 2/3 vocational course then only degree should be awarded. After completing Diploma/Engineering studies, make it mandatory to complete minimum 6 month Industrial training/vocational Certificate course of their field then only degree should be awarded. Technical college curriculum should be same in whole country and that to designed by IIT s with Vocational Training course, compulsorily every year and that should be in curriculum itself. Technical courses are to be revised as per Industrial need in every 2-3 year. Industries and Engineering/Diploma institutes should work together to get industry ready personals. 11

12 SOLUTION FOR COPE UP SKILL GAP AT GOVT OF INDIA LEVEL According to Government of India survey skilled work force in India is only 2% where as in Britain 70%, Germany 75%, Japan 80% and in South Korea it is 96%. This is challenging job for our country and for this my submissions are as under. Govt. approved vocational training centers should be opened for different courses and for authenticity of that centers advertisement in news paper should be made by Govt. for joining vocational course at approved centers. 12

13 Vocational Educational Training providers from abroad are to be invited in our country to start VET courses in India in collaboration with Indian VET providers. Foreign Direct Investment are to be allowed for VET courses. According to NSDC, a public private partnership tasked with funding and directing private skill programs approximately 12.8 million people will join the job market every year in coming decade. 13

14 CONCLUSION To make India skilled power country, we have to take initiative for Skill Development through reforming the education system, providing practical exposure and promoting entrepreneurship. 14
