2 Statement of Need This will be a surgical and interventional cardiology technique conference. The purpose of this conference is to describe in detail the techniques and pitfalls of complex open surgical and transcatheter valve techniques. The emphasis of each presentation will be on specific technical details: how the experts actually do these procedures, step by step. Movies and schematics will play a large part of the conference. Target Audience This conference is designed for cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, general cardiologists and internists. Objectives After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to describe and discuss: The techniques used to perform complex valve procedures, including: transfemoral TAVR transapical TAVR transaxillary TAVR direct aortic TAVR Strategies for valve sparing aortic root replacement Approaches to minimally invasive mitral valve replacement and management of endocarditis.
