3 1. EXCHANGE STUDENTS BUSINESS SCHOOL Each year EBS Business Schl welcmes mre than 350 exchange students frm ur mre than 250 partner universities arund the wrld n campus. Funded in 1971, EBS is the ldest private business schl with university status in Germany. It is lcated in the heart f the Rhine-Main regin, in gegraphical terms, at the centre f Eurpe. This regin is a hub f ecnmic develpment with a ppulatin f mre than 4.7 millin, 320,000 cmpanies, including 2,200 high-tech prductin plants, sales and services rganizatins. EBS Business Schl is within easy reach f Wiesbaden, the capital f the state f Hesse, and Frankfurt, the financial metrplis f cntinental Eurpe with mre than 430 natinal and internatinal financial institutins including the Eurpean Central Bank. If yu wish t braden yur educatinal experience by spending ne r tw semesters studying abrad, then we can accmmdate yu at EBS. We have a rich curriculum and a wide range f curses which are apprpriate fr either a ne semester r tw semester stay. In additin we ffer t all students frm ur partner universities a German language curse free f tuitin charges tw weeks befre the fficial start f the semester. Yu may decide that yu wuld like a degree, nt nly frm yur wn cuntry, but als frm a German university. We can ffer yu the ptin f studying at EBS fr ne year (Master) r 3 semesters (Bachelr) t gain a duble degree, prvided that there is an agreement t d s between EBS and yur hme institutin. The Office f Internatinal Prgrammes will make every effrt t ensure that yu have everything yu need t prepare yu fr yur studies at EBS. It is imprtant that yu, as an exchange student, are made t feel at hme; at EBS. We achieve this in the fllwing way: the Internatinal Prgrammes Team is always at hand t deal with any administrative queries r cncerns and t help with general needs eg, husing allcatin f a student buddy (fellw students frm EBS) wh can supprt yu n a day-t-day basis. 2

5 3. Admissin If yu are NOT studying at ne f ur partner universities but are still interested in apply fr an exchange at EBS as a free-mver, please cntact EBS Internatinal Prgrammes Office. If yu are studying at ne f ur partner universities and wuld like t apply fr exchange studies at EBS, the fllwing three steps are required: Step 1: The exchange crdinatr f the hme university nminates exchange students thrugh an nline nminatin system. Step 2: Nminated exchange students receive an frm EBS Internatinal Prgrammes Office with details n the nline applicatin prcedure. Please nte that it may take 2-3 wrk days fr EBS t prcess the nminatins and mail ut the lgin details t yur students. 6 EBS can nly issue yur letter f acceptance AFTER receiving a students cmplete applicatin befre the applicatin deadline! Cmplete applicatins must reach EBS by the fllwing deadlines: Fr exchange in fall term: 01 May Fr exchange in spring term: 01 Octber A few days after yur arrival yu will receive yur EBS student ID card and yur semester ticket fr public transprt in the area (csts during in 2017/2018: 122,73 EUR per semester fr unlimited travel in the RMV-regin). 4. COURSES T help yu find yur way arund the EBS curses, please bear in mind the fllwing basic guidelines : Undergraduate students are welcme t enrl fr curses in ur Bachelr f Science prgrammes; Graduate students are welcme t enrl fr curses Master prgrammes; 90% f ur undergraduate level curses are taught in English. Our Master and MBA prgrammes are taught 100% in English. Please nte that the curse ffering may change frm year t year. After enrlment students will receive a tentative curse list. The curse catalgues can give a general idea abut which curses will mst likely be ffered in spring and fall terms n the different levels. Mdules and Curses Our Bachelr and Master prgrammes are taught in s-called mdules. Mdules are grups f curses which are tied tgether and which can nly be registered fruas a whleu. An verall mdule exam is taken at the end f the semester which includes elements frm all curses within this mdule. Hwever, nly ne verall mark is given. Few mdules are structured in such a way that it's nt pssible t take the whle mdule during ne semester. In such a case, students can take the curse n its wn - these curses are labeled as "stand-alne-curses". Fr each stand-alne-curse a separate exam takes place. 5

7 5. EUROPEAN GRADING SYSTEM 60 ECTS credits represent the wrklad f a year f study; nrmally 30 ECTS are given fr ne semester. Credits are awarded nly when the curse and all required examinatins have been successfully cmpleted. Students participating in ECTS will receive full credit fr all academic wrk successfully cmpleted at EBS and will be able t transfer the credits earned. A transcript will be sent t the hme institutin at the end f the semester. Number f weeks per semester: 14 Languages f Instructin: 90% f undergraduate level curses and 100% f graduate level curses at EBS are taught in English. 6
