3 WHAT CAN I STUDY? AT PIEDMONT COMMUNITY COLLEGE Locations Person County Campus 1715 College Drive, Roxboro, NC (336) University Transfer Programs PCC s University Transfer Programs allow students to complete two years of coursework at PCC and transfer these credits towards a bachelor s degree at a four-year college or university. Credits earned in PCC s Associate of Arts (A.A), Associate of Science (A.S.), or the Associate of Fine Arts in Visual Arts (A.F.A.) degrees transfer to all 16 University of North Carolina institutions. Students who graduate with one of these degrees are admitted as juniors based on a statewide agreement to ensure a smooth transfer. PCC also offers the Associate in General Education (A.G.E.) degree for students who wish to broaden their education for specific personal interest, growth,and development. 6 HOW TO ENROLL 5 EASY STEPS TO STARTING YOUR EDUCATION 1 CHOOSE PROGRAM OF STUDY There are over 30 programs to select from, including college transfer and degree programs. Work with a PCC Student Development Team Member or use Career Coach to help guide your decision. 2 BEGIN THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS Application: Submit a completed PCC Application for admission available online at Transcripts: Submit official transcripts from high school or equivalent, as well as any previous college work. Placement Test: Work with a PCC Student Development Team Member to determine if you need to schedule a Placement Test. Call (336) APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID (Optional) Other Criteria: Work with a PCC Student Development Team Member to determine if any other criteria is needed for your specific program of study. 7 PAYING FOR COLLEGE CURRICULUM TUITION AND FEES AT PCC In-State Tuition: $76 per semester hour but not to exceed $1,274 per Fall, Spring, or Summer semester (subject to change by the NC General Assembly and/or NC State Board of Community Colleges). Out-of-State Tuition: $268 per semester hour but not to exceed $4,346 per Fall, Spring, or Summer semester (subject to change by the NC General Assembly and/or the NC State Board of Community Colleges). Student fees provide funds for items and services not covered by tuition and registration fees. Student Activity Fees are charged to support student activities. Non-curriculum students are not required to pay the fee, but have an option to do so if they wish to participate in student activity programs. Technology Fees are charged to support the procurement, operation of, and repair of instructional technology including supplies and materials that accompany the technology. Campus Access Fees are charged to use the campus facilities and to access College resources through distance learning. Student Liability Fees are charged to students whose course of study requires malpractice liability insurance. 17 REGISTRATION & FEES FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSES Registration is open to anyone at least 18 years of age or older and may be completed in person, by mail, or by phone. Registration for minors in Adult Basic Skills requires parent/guardian, the school superintendent, and the principal s written permission (completed form required).
