7 GEETA INSTITUTE OF LAW Geeta Institute of Law has a unique distinction as one of the prestigious Law Institute in the state of Haryana, offering 5-years integrated B.A.L.L.B (Hons.) program and L.L.B 3 year s program. The institute is very well located on NH-1, G.T. Road Panipat, just 50 minutes run from Delhi, the capital of India. The institute was granted affiliation by the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra in 2007 and affiliation has been approved by the Bar Council of India. The method of teaching in GIL includes lecture discussion, case law analysis, moot court training, project assignments, court visits, internship and legal aid programs and placement programs. The institute organizes seminars on issues of law and global concerns on national and international level, conduct clinical courses and train students in legal research and legal writing. By the time a student completes the program he/she will be fully equipped with the required theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of law to become a full fledged responsible member of the legal profession. 8 INFRASTRUCTURE & FACILITIES CLASSROOMS Geeta Institute of Law has wellfurnished air-conditioned classrooms equipped with LCD Projectors for effective communication and interaction with the students, to facilitate class room discussions and project presentations. LIBRARY The Law library is traditionally considered to be the laboratory of a lawyer. The library of GEETA INSTITUTE OF LAW is one of the best libraries in Haryana. The library has over 3000 books including various law reports and journals. The library follows the open access system wherein the students can access the books they want to refer directly from the shelves. It has a computerized database from which one can trace any book with the help of library staff /librarian. The library can accommodate about one hundred users at a time. 7

9 COMPUTER LAB The Institute has a computer lab which is air-conditioned and fully equipped with adequate number of terminals with latest configuration and more than 30 c o m p u t e r s w i t h i n t e r n e t connectivity for the use of the students, teachers and staff working in the Geeta Institute of Law. Moot Court Geeta Institute of Law has a Moot Court Hall given the courtroom design. The objective of providing this facility is to impart practical experience along with academic excellence amongst the students. It is mandatory for all the students to participate in internal Moot Court Competitions so that they can gain the exposure and confidence to take part in Moot Court Competitions organized by other institutions and Universities. It is our pleasure that we have successfully conducted 5 National Moot Court Competitions till now and further we focus on making it an international event. 8

10 AUDITORIUM The Auditorium is the centre for all the academic as well as nonacademic programmes organised within the Institute. The auditorium at the Geeta Institute of Law is well equipped with all the facilities to meet out the needs of students. CAFETERIA In an attempt to provide the students more in campus facility modern cafeteria has been provided at GIL. Well structured cafeteria has become quite popular amongst the students who assemble their in a congenial environment during the lunch break and off times. Quality food stuffs are available at subsidized rates. Balanced, well planned, hygienically prepared lunch and dishes are surved to the day scholars, hostellers, faculty members and visitors. 9

11 HOSTEL Hostel represents a cross-section of the population and the society. Young people from different states, regions and nations, speaking different languages, eating and dressing differently, professing diverse faiths, all come together imbued with a common purpose: pursuit of academics or research. The Institute has magnificently designed separate hostels for boys and girls each with all modern facilities, for boarding and other recreational activities. The hostels have their own mess to provide good and hygienic food to the students. The Hostel is having separate gym to work out for the hostlers. A/C or Non A/C facility is optional as per the requirement of the students Sports Transport Facility GIL has developed huge and well maintained play ground for the all round development of students. Various out door games like; volleyball, basket ball, badminton, throw ball and in-door games like; table tennis, chess and carom etc. are organized under the supervision of sports instructors. The students need to commute from different city to college for which the college is providing air conditioned buses plying from Panipat, Karnal, Sonipat, Kurukshetra, Delhi and all nearby areas. Centre For Excellence in Environment Studies International Environmental Law is one of the most dynamic fields of International Law and is an essential part of today's global legal regime. Much of the modern body of environmental law has been developed internationally through the adoption of various conventions & legal instruments. A developing country like India with a large population needs to protect the environment in its process of development. While development remains a priority to improve the standard of living, it cannot ignore environmental concerns in the process. The environmental concerns need to be integrated into all economic policies and implementation decisions. A specialization in Environment Law therefore assumes great significance. The course will also address the principles of allocation of natural resources according to the concepts of due process of law and equity. This involves the risk of misuse of this novel technology and this will involve many legal issues and problems such as cyber crimes and other related matters. The use of internet and computers come in the purview of Cyber Law with Information Technology Act 2000 dealing with all such issues. In cyber law, we learn about various rules and regulation related to computer and internet. 18 ADMISSION PROCEDURE 2016 B.A.LL.B Students for admission will be selected on the basis of their aggregate marks in qualifying exam and merit in G- LAT (Geeta Law Admission Test) conducted by Geeta Institute of Law and thereafter personal interview. For more details about G-LAT, visit: LL.B For admission, direct interview will be held and students will be selected on the basis of their marks in qualifying examination and performance in personal interview, no entrance test required. Prospectus Available- Application forms are available at all leading Book Shops, the college campus and offices of Geeta Group of Institution with the cost of Rs.300/-. Online Application Process- Candidate can also apply online for G-LAT at payment of rupees 1000/-. by SCHOLARSHIPS Geeta G-LAT Merit Scholarship The top two G-LAT (Geeta Law admission Test) scorers enrolled in the B.A.LL.B (Hons.) 5 year program will be awarded a scholarship of Rs.30,000/-. This will be based on their performance in G-LAT (Geeta Law Admission Test) Geeta Outstanding Merit scholarship 1. Students who are eligible for Geeta Outstanding Merit Scholarship are required to appear in G-LAT exam. Candidate eligible for both the scholarships (whichever is higher). 2.
