1 Program-Level Student Learning Outcomes Matrix - Academic Year Sport Management, BS Program Mission: The mission of the York College of Pennsylvania Sport Management major is to provide students with a positive environment, rich in academic and practical experiences, oriented toward developing comprehensive professional and technical skills that are applicable to the diverse career opportunities in the sport management industry. 1 Identify Each Student Learning Outcome and Measurement Tool(s) Identify the Benchmark Observed SLO 1 Demonstrate the ability to apply current knowledge and practices to generate revenue within the sport industry. Action plan: Student engagement is important to retention. The Sport Management Student Association is critical to student engagement in the program. Action Plan: Change the timing of scheduling new leadership. Implement an all-day planning and leadership development session prior to the new school year. Advising is critical to student retention. Action Plan: Balance advising load across full time faculty to ensure that faculty are not overloaded. b. As noted in Section I above: Enrollment continues to be a major focus for the HRSM Department. The sport management program engaged in a number of additional activities to promote the program, including an active social media presence, direct follow-up after open house events, and additional communications during the year to maintain contact with applicants and encourage enrollment. The College has been developing articulation agreements with community and junior colleges to promote to transfer students. Action Plan: Work closely with admissions. Use social media to engage prospects. Follow up with inquiries on a regular basis. Work with the admissions office and the HRSM department to develop and implement sport management-specific articulation agreements.

Brief Description of Student Population: Enrollment in the Sport Management program is 174 students. A great majority of the students are residential and all except three students are full-time. Admissions Requirements: York College employs a rolling admissions process for all applicants. Prospective students must complete an application and submit the following:

7 7 An official transcript of your secondary school grades. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) of the College Entrance Examination Board scores or the American College Testing Program (ACT) scores. Students are invited to upload letters of recommendation and supporting documents to their applications. The following pertains to transfer students: A minimum grade point average of 2.0 is required. A maximum of 75 semester hours will be accepted in transfer from two-year colleges. Students must complete a minimum of 30 credit hours at York College to be eligible to earn a degree. Students admitted to the college with an associate's degree from another institution must satisfy all York College general education requirements not completed as transfer credit.
