Candidates should come with filled in application, fee receipts, and all original certificates and get admitted. The certificates will be returned on the spot. 2 Degree, P.G & Professional Courses PROSPECTUS School of Distance Education UNIVERSITY OF CALICUT SCHOOL OF DISTANCE EDUCATION PROLOGUE The University of Calicut, established in 1968, the second University to be set up in Kerala was opened as a part of the affirmative policy of the government in response to the challenges offered by the geo-political unit of Malabar. It aimed to bring higher education within the purview of one and all. At present the University has 29 post graduate departments and 281 affiliated colleges and is the largest residential cum affiliating University in Kerala. It has slowly but steadily branched out and now has extension centres at Thrissur, Calicut, Lakshadweep and Vatakara. Prospectus 1
