If you will be age 12 or younger when you start classes, you have a different application process. See page ## 3 Now you will CREATE AN ACCOUNT then provide the information requested NOTE: if you already have an account, you should select SIGN IN. If you forgot your log-on information, just follow the prompts provided to get new log-on credentials Be sure to write down your user name and password. You ll need it in the future if you want to update your account To start your application, go to and click the APPLY button At the next screen, review the important information about session dates, then click the bar CLICK HERE TO BEGIN APPLICATION 6 6 Once you ve established your account, your new CCC Apply ID # will appear on the screen....you RE NOT DONE YET Continue to the actual college application

NOTE: if you don t have a Social Security # (SSN), it s okay. Check the box that says you don t have one Verify that you ve input your information correctly then click SUBMIT MY APPLICATION Expect these s within 48 hours CCCID # Application Submission Confirmation These s will come within 5 days Your College ID# - You ll need this to register for classes - see pg # A Registration Date and Instructions If you don t get the s, be sure to check you spam folder. If you still don t have the s, visit or call the Welcome Center -- SSB 1st Floor (310)
3 GO WEST. GO FAR. Step #2 Enroll in For-Credit Classes NEW & RETURNING STUDENTS: A New Student is defined as one who has never taken classes at West or another LACCD campus. A Returning Student is one who has had a break of more than 2 semesters (Fall & Spring) between enrollments at an LACCD campus. COMPLETE APPLICATION Apply Online at (see page #) GET REGISTRATION APPOINTMENT Within 5 days from when you apply online, you will be ed an important Welcome Letter from the college president with your registration appointment date and next step instructions. You may register through the student portal (My.College. LACCD.edu) on, or anytime after, your appointment date / time. WEST EXPRESSWAY Students who are new to the college need to complete the West Expressway which offers: Orientation, Assessment and Counseling, an Abbreviated Student Educational Plan and other important information. Students who complete the West Expressway will gain access to Priority Registration. Orientation to College Orientation introduces you to the campus resources, support services and college programs which are available to help you make better, more informed educational and career choices. Assessment Testing The Assessment testing in math, and English or English as a Second Language, will show your educational strengths and needs and can provide useful information for planning a course of study. The Assessment results will provide critical Placement Recommendations for you and for your Counselor. You will be placed in a specifi c Math and English or ESL course. Access College Assessment Preparation online at (click Expressway) or visit the Assessment Center in SSB 420. Appointment With a Counselor Using the Assessment results, your goals, past education and work experience, the counselor will help you develop an Abbreviated Student Educational Plan (ASEP), begin to identify an educational goal, and select the appropriate classes. APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID To receive the best aid package, new and returning students should fi le the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) between October 1, 2016 and March 2, Students who did not file a FAFSA prior to March 2, 2017 are urged to file their FAFSA as soon as possible. You may file for and receive financial aid after March 2. The FAFSA form is available online at gov. The Financial Aid Offi ce provides assistance in completing the necessary forms to apply for fi nancial aid. REGISTER FOR CLASSES Register for classes online at (click Register). Be sure you indicate a major and educational goal in the system. Once your class begins, you may be able to add a class by asking the professor in-person during the fi rst meeting of the class. To add an ONLINE CLASS, you must the instructor for permission. Find online instructor s at Online/Schedules.asp NOTE: To gain a High Level Registration Priority, you must complete Orientation, Assessment and a Student Educational Plan through the West Expressway by the deadline - see Academic Calendar at the front of this schedule. TIP - Select WEST: The online searchable schedule can allow you to register for classes at all 9 LACCD campuses. Be careful to select WEST from the menu to enroll in WEST courses PAY FEES Fees are due when you register for classes. If using a credit card, debit card or electronic check, use the online student portal to pay your fees. The Business Offi ce on the second fl oor of the Student Services Building can only accept cash. GET HELP GETTING STARTED GET STUDENT ID CARD Go to the ASO Offi ce or HLRC / Library 2nd Floor, for your student ID card. HANDS-ON ASSISTANCE APPLYING & ENROLLING in the Learning Center (HLRC / Library 1st Floor) ASSESSMENT PREP Refresh or improve your English & Math skills in a FREE, short-term, non-credit class before taking the Assessment Test. 4 CONTINUING STUDENTS: A Continuing Student is one who attended classes at West or another LACCD campus in one of the 2 prior semesters (Fall & Spring). PRIORITY REGISTRATION INFORMATION Students who have completed 15 units and have completed the college Orientation, Assessment, and abbreviated Student Education Plan MUST ALSO acquire a Comprehensive Student Educational Plan (CSEP) from a Counselor and maintain good academic standing (2.0 GPA) to have access to Priority Registration. VISIT A COUNSELOR See a counselor well in advance of the Priority Registration dates to secure your Comprehensive Student Educational Plan (CSEP). Make sure you are selecting the correct classes to reach your academic goal whether it be a degree, certifi cate, university transfer or other professional/personal goal. Enrolling GETTING STARTED RECEIVE REGISTRATION APPOINTMENT VIA STUDENT PORTAL Students may register through the Student Portal (MyCollege.LACCD.edu) at the date/time indicated or any day thereafter. Use your Comprehensive Student Educational Plan (CSEP) as a guide in selecting courses. When you register for classes, the default screen should display classes at your Home College. To change your Home College to another campus, complete a Home Campus Change Form available in Admissions (SSB 2nd Floor) AND meet with a counselor. Wait Lists Good News! Many full classes have wait lists. Students from the wait list will be automatically added to the class if seats open PRIOR to the start of the course. You will be notifi ed via your college if you are added to a class. No Tuition - No GPA Impact JUST LEARNING AND BUILDING SKILLS FREECOLLEGE offers individual courses and certifi cates of COMPLETION OR COMPETENCY in a variety of CAREER-TECHNICAL and academic areas. Most classes are 8-weeks long or less, and most certifi cates can be achieved by taking only TWO to three courses. Plus you don t have to stress about grades, because FREE COLLEGE classes are always graded Pass or No Pass. FREECOLLEGE classes are NONCREDIT and do not apply toward an Associate Degree or university transfer. To Apply & Enroll: 1. COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION at (Click APPLY). 6 Still in High School? or younger? NonCredit & K-12 GETTING STARTED Students can enroll in West and receive college credit while still attending their middle or high school. Two Great Options: CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT at West High school and younger students may enroll in college classes on West s campus. JUMPSTART at Your High School High school students may enroll in college classes offered by West at their high schools. This option is only available at select schools. To Apply & Enroll: If you will be AGE 13 or older when you start classes, 1) Complete the ONLINE application at edu (click APPLY)...helpful instructions on page # 2) Follow the instructions at ww.wlac.edu/high- School for submitting a Supplemental K-12 Application If you will be AGE 12 or younger when you start classes, 1) Submit the PAPER application found at www. WLAC.edu/High-School 2) Follow the instructions at High-School for submitting a Supplemental K-12 Application High School Outreach & Recruitment Phone: (310) Outreach@WLAC.edu Location: Student Services Building (SSB), 414 Web: TUITION & FEES: West waives tuition for California residents enrolled in high school (maximum of 11 units per semester; 7 units during winter/summer intersessions). Students are, however, responsible for the cost of textbooks or materials. No fi nancial aid is available to high school students. The nonresident tuition fee will be charged for all students who are classifi ed as nonresidents; students may apply for an individual waiver pursuant to Board Rule The LACCD also charges a health fee and, where applicable, a student representation fee. CONDITIONS: The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) and its colleges assume no responsibility for the supervision of minor students (i.e., students under 18 years of age) outside the classroom setting. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their children are appropriately supervised before class begins, after class fi nishes, or when a class is cancelled and/or dismissed early. FOR PARENT / GUARDIAN: I understand my child will not be afforded special status or supervision as a result of his/her minor status while enrolled in the LACCD. I understand that I will not have access to my child s student records (including grades and transcripts) without his/her written consent, minor status notwithstanding. NOTE: K-8 students may only register for classes meeting Associate Degree and/or university transfer requirements and may not enroll in classes below Math125 and/or English 101. ADVISORY TO HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS 12th grade students are advised to complete West s ExpressWay and math/english assessment test.
