1 This is not an exhaustive list of subjects and courses. We recommend you check each host university s Study Abroad module page to see what is available to you as it changes year to year as well as the UCEAP module catalogue to see what students have taken in the past. There will be some courses that can cover your subject but based in a different department (e.g. women s studies classes in sociology). UK second-year courses are usually considered equivalent to the junior year at a U.S. university. This is important as some host universities have restrictions regarding the level of courses available to study abroad students. For more information on course levels, please review the Program Guide. General subject area restrictions across all host institutions: Courses in science, math, and engineering may be limited for Fall-only options. Please check with the individual university if alternative assessment is available. Most law courses at U.K. host universities are year-long courses only. If you are a semester student and you want to take law courses, you can do so at the University of Manchester, the University of London, Royal Holloway, the University of Sussex, and on a case-by-case basis at the University of Kent. There are no courses in medicine open to UCEAP students in England. Updated June 2017 To Overview Table Page 1
2 Please read through to the end of the document for each university s offerings or click on the column headers in the table below. Below is an overview of subject areas available at each host institution. This list may change as host university policies change. The information below is still subject to the restrictions found later in this guide. Therefore, we strongly recommend you review subject offerings for each university in conjunction with the restrictions for that university. Key Available during the term(s) the program is offered Limited in Fall. You will need to have back-up course choices. At King's College, two Study Abroad Tracks are not available to you: (1) Science, Communication & Society, and (2) Global Health & Social Medicine. (The Health and Society Course (Pre-Med) is also not available.) Classes that tend to be impacted: American Studies Economics Chemistry Computer Science Development Studies Education English European Studies Mathematics Music Peace studies (known as War Studies at Kings) Updated June 2017 To Overview Table Page 6

University College London (UCL) (Fall, Spring, Year-Long) It is imperative that you check when a course/field of study is available as not all fields of study are offered every term. You can find more detailed information on the course offerings on the UCL Study Abroad Programme page. Architecture courses are only Year-long. Planning classes are offered in either semester. When studying at UCL you must choose your base department from one of the departments listed below. You must take 50% of your courses (usually 2 per semester) in your base department. No other departments are available to be a base department, but you are able to take the remaining 50% of your courses in other departments. For all departments except BASC, you must have been studying the subject previously. Base Department Options: BASC Anthropology Archaeology Economics (GAP 3.5) History Geography Statistical Science (GPA 3.5) Earth Science Biological Sciences Physics and Astronomy Updated June 2017 To Overview Table Page 7
