9 CERTIFIED TEACHERS CERTIFIED To include all Teachers, Counselors, Library Media Specialists, Psychometrists, Resource Specialists, and Speech Pathologists EXPERIENCE CREDIT Experience credit is awarded based on full-time public school experience (PSExp) either on the elementary/secondary or on the post-secondary level. To be eligible for credit, a teacher must have completed 90% of the number of days of the full contract. When a certified person being paid from the teacher salary schedule achieves tenure in the Madison County School System, he/she will automatically go to Step 4 on the salary schedule, unless already at a placement higher than Step 4. NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION A state allocated supplement shall ge given to each school teacher or counselor who is awarded and maintains national certification by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), or was certified as a nationally certified school counselor by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) prior to January 1, LENGTH OF WORK SCHEDULE TEACHERS: Work schedules are determined by the employee's position and the Superintendent. COUNSELORS: K-5, K-6 (187-Days) Regular teacher salary schedule and teacher work schedule. K-8, 5-8, 6-8 (187-Days) Regular teacher salary schedule and teacher work schedule. (202-Days) In schools with 600 or more students, based on 8th Month ADM of previous year in grades 5-8, counselors will work 15 additional days beyond the regular teacher salary schedule. 11 J.R.O.T.C. INSTRUCTOR CERTIFIED JROTC 1. The minimum salary for a JROTC instructor will be the amount contributed to the Board by the military and that amount matched by the System. 2. The JROTC instructor will be placed at the Step necessary to ensure the minimum salary as described in 1, OR placed on the Step which corresponds with the instructor's verified *public school experience, whichever is greater. *Experience credit is awarded based on full-time public school teaching experience, either on the elementary/secondary or on the post-secondary level. To be eligible for credit, a teacher must have completed 90% of the number of days of the full contract. 3. Subsequent increases will be governed by current legislation regarding JROTC instructors and by Active Duty Pay Increases. 4.
