Three (3) years work experience in Purchasing, Supplies or Procurement and Candidates registered with a relevant Professional body will have an added advantage and should be computer literate preferably in e-procurement Module. Procurement Assistant: Grade 5 (3 Positions) AD/22/2/13 Applicants must have a Diploma in Supplies Management or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. In addition, Three (3) years experience in a Procurement environment and should be computer literate. OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE 1. ADMINISTRATION Deputy Registrar, Administration: Grade 14 (1 Position) -AD/23/2/13 Applicants should be holders of a Masters degree in any area relevant to Management preferably Human Resource Management from a recognized University At least twelve years (12) years working experience in a relevant area with at least 5 years experience at the level of Senior Assistant Registrar. Possession of a CPS (K) or Diploma in relevant areas will be an added advantage. The successful candidate will be responsible for the general administration and Management of the department under direction of the Registrar, Administration. Senior Assistant Registrar Administration: Grade 13 (2 positions) AD/24/2/13 Applicants must have a Masters degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration or other Management areas from a recognized university. Five (5) years work experience at the level of Assistant Registrar or equivalent in a University or an Institution of higher learning. The candidate must be conversant with modern management techniques and relevant aspects of Information Technology. Assistant Security Officer: Grade 5/6 (3positions) -AD/25/2/13 Applicant must at least posses KCSE Certificate or equivalent Must be proficient in Kiswahili and English Must have at least Three (3) years experience a Security Supervisor Grade 4 in a University or appropriately trained in Kenya Police or Armed Forces. Must be of high integrity and have ability to supervise staff Be at least 25 years of age and be physically and mentally fit. 1

2 Transport Manager: Grade 12 - (1 Position) AD/26/2/13 Applicants must have a Masters Degree preferably with an undergraduate Degree in Mechanical engineering, Transportation, Logistics or other related field. At least Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in motor vehicle transport operations management. Hold a valid national driving license. 2.FINANCE DEPARTMENT Deputy Finance Officer: Grade 14 - (1 Position) AD/27/2/13 Applicants must have a Masters degree in MBA/MCOM or its equivalent CPA (K) or its equivalent Must have served as a Senior Accountant in a busy environment for a minimum of 5 years Be a member of a Professional Accounting body e.g. ICPAK Must have outstanding professional competence in Financial Management Should be able to work under pressure and be able to demonstrate administrative skills Able to use financial computer packages Senior Accountant: Grade 13- (2 Positions) AD/28/2/13 Applicants must have a degree in B.Com with accounting option or its equivalent, candidates with an MBA/MCOM will have an added advantage. Have five (5) years working experience post internship Be registered as a Medical Practitioner by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board of Kenya and still retained in the practice register. Pharmaceutical Technologist: Grade 8 (2 Positions) AD/35/2/13 Applicants must have a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from Kenya Medical Training College. ACADEMIC DIVISION Registrar Academic Affairs: Grade 15 (1 Position) - AD/36/2/13 Applicants must have a Ph. D from a recognized University. Five (5) years working experience as a Deputy Registrar Grade 14 or equivalent in a University or similar Institution of Higher Learning. Be conversant with modern academic trends including relevant aspects of information technology. For Academic members of staff, one must have five (5) years experience in a senior academic position at the level of Senior Lecturer and above. 3

LIBRARY University Librarian: Grade 15-(1 Position) - AD/40/2/13 Applicants must be holders of PhD in Library and Information Science or equivalent from a recognized University Library at a Senior management level for at least 14 years, five of which should be as Deputy Librarian or Holders of Master s Degree in Library and Information science or its equivalent with fifteen (15) years three (3) of which must be at the level of Deputy librarian will be considered Applicants must also be able to demonstrate maturity in professional leadership, manage a multi-sited library system and a large professional workforce. They should show evidence of conference attendance and membership to relevant national/international professional bodies. Those who have published books with reputable publishers and done articles in refereed journal will have added advantage. Assistant Librarian: Grade 12 (3 Positions) AD/41/2/13 Applicant must have a Masters degree in Library and/or Information Science. Should have at least 5 years work experience in a large organized library system preferably an academic library at the level of Senior Library Assistant. Holders of higher degrees and/or knowledge of IT as applied to library and Information Science will have an added advantage. 4

Senior Bindery Assistant: Grade 8 (1 Position) AD/42/2/13 Applicant must have Higher Diploma or Diploma in Book-Binding and Print Finishing or its equivalent from a recognized institution with at least 10 years relevant experience. Bindery Assistant: Grade 5 (1 Position) AD/43/2/13 Applicant must have KCSE or its equivalent, Diploma in Book-Binding and Print finishing. Five 5 years practical experience in library binding Applicants with skills in the use and repair of binding equipment will have an added advantage 3. INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY Systems Administrator: Grade 12 (1 Position) AD/44/2/13 Applicants must have BSc. (Computer Science/ICT/MIS). Five (5) years experience as a Systems Administrator in a busy working environment. Candidates must also have Professional qualifications /Certifications in UNIXILINUX and Microsoft (MCITP/MCTS), plus a popular ERP package. Applicants with MSc. in these fields will have an added advantage Network Administrator: Grade 12 (1 Position) AD/45/2/13 Applicants must have a BSc. (Computer Science/ICT/or BSc. (Computer Engineering/Technology). Five (5) years experience as a Network Administrator or as an ICT Professional in a busy working environment. Those with MSc. in these fields and with experience in Windows Server 2008 will have an added advantage as well as Professional qualifications /Certifications in Networking such as CCNA/CCNP, UNIX/Linux and Microsoft (MCITP/MCTS). Systems Analyst/Developer: Grade 11 (1 Position) AD/46/2/13 Applicants must have a BSc. in Computer Engineering/ICT/Software Engineering; an Msc in these fields will have an added advantage. Three (3) years experience as a systems analyst/programmer/developer in a large organization in which an ERP package is deployed. MIS Support Specialist: Grade 9 (3 Positions) AD/47/2/13 Applicants must have a BSc. in Computer Science/ICT/MIS Two years proven experience in ICT support. Holders of a Higher/Advanced Diploma in relevant disciplines with a minimum of four years relevant experience will also be considered. 5

SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH (AIDS CONTROL UNIT) Male VCT Counselors: Grade 7 (2 Positions) AD/48/2/13 Applicants must possess a Higher Diploma in Psychological Counseling, Medical Health and Psychological Counseling and/or Guidance and counseling from a recognized Institution. In addition, Have a certificate in Voluntary Counseling and testing from NASCOP and / or Liverpool VCT. Applicants with experience in sign language will have an added advantage. VCT Receptionist :( 1 Position) AD/49/2/13 Applicants must have a Certificate in Secretarial duties, front office and/or Information Technology (IT). Should poses certificates in Psychological Counseling, Have a certificate Voluntary Counseling and Testing from NASCOP and /or Liverpool VCT Have a minimum of two (2) years experience. Applicants with experience in sign language will have an added advantage. 5. DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY Senior Lecturer (Aquatic Sciences): Grade 13 (1 Position) - AC/50/2/13 Applicants must have MSc. and PhD Degree in the relevant field from a recognized University. at least three (3) years teaching experience at a University as a Lecturer Must have published at least three (3) papers in refereed journals or at least one (1) University level book in the applicant s area of specialization since last appointment as Lecturer. The candidate must demonstrate ability to supervise post graduate students and also demonstrate good leadership ability as well as ability to attract research funding. Lecturer (Molecular Parasitology, Entomology, Comparative Animal Physiology, Microbiology) Grade 12 (4 Positions) - AC/51/2/13 Applicants must be holders of a PhD Degree in the relevant field from a recognized University Evidence of productive research manifested by at least two publications in refereed journals.. 6. elearning CENTRE elearning System Support: Grade 12- (1 Position) -AD/52/2/13 Applicant must be holder of at least a Bachelors Degree in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Information Technology, Education or other related qualifications Have a demonstrable PHP programming experience, skills with MySQL and PHP to access database, knowledge and experience in creating and modifying HTML pages, and writing and modifying JavaScript 6

7 Have basic experience in managing Moodle (or other Learning Management System) as Administrator, Teacher or Learner Have at least five (5) years of relevant work experience implementing an elearning solution in an institution of higher learning, tertiary institution or related corporate institution Basic experience with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) environment is desirable.
