9 Interna Quaity Assurance Ce (IQAC) The institution estabished Quaity Assurance Ce (QAC) in 2008, to monitor the academic performance of the Institution. The QAC has been redefined as Interna Quaity Assurance Ce (IQAC) on 2nd January, 2015, to assure the best quaity in academia. To monitor the quaity of education, the institution estabished IQAC, with an aim to improve the overa performance of the Institution and to monitor the system and procedure of the academic activities. The ce channeizes the efforts of the institution towards academic exceence through team works and persistent efforts. In order to ensure quaity, the institution has an appropriate evauation system. The feedback mechanism, sef- appraisa of facuty members and IQAC audit system enabe the institution to monitor the performance of the facuty members, IQAC was introduced by the Institution for monitoring the system and procedure of academic activities. NATIONAL CYBER DEFENCE RESEARCH CENTRE KIT estabished Nationa Cyber Defence Research Centre (NCDRC) in the domain of Web Appication in association with Nationa Cyber Safety and Security Standards (NCSSS), an autonomous body. With its spacious reading has and modern infrastructure, the ibrary provides the right ambience for reading and research for the earners. The ibrary has fuy computerised automated system for transactions of the books and other reading materias. The Onine Pubic Access Cataogue (OPAC) is avaiabe in the coege ibrary. E- Resources for IEEE-, Springer, DELNET and Nationa Digita Library, British Counci, and D Space are aso subscribed by the ibrary. The centra ibrary has NPTEL Videos and Web ectures of different streams of engineering for promoting research and deveopmenta activities within its students and facuty members. The coege provides internet access through a 16 Mbps, internet broadband ink. A 10Mbps internet connection is excusivey aotted for the ibrary. Internet browsing and photocopying faciities are avaiabe throughout the working hours in the ibrary. In addition o this, a separate department ibrary is made avaiabe in every department. One representative from each department is aotted as a member of the committee. The duration of the membership of the committee members is for a period of two years and is renewed after the respective time period. The committee meets once in every academic year to improvise the standard of the ibrary. 11

15 SCHOLARSHIPS Financia Assistance & Schoarships The Vijayaakshmi Paanisamy Charitabe Trust offers severa schoarships, fee waiver scheme, and research assistance to meritorious and deserving students. Every year more than 200 students are benefitted with the schoarship worth one core. VIJAYALAKSHMI PALANISAMY SCHOLARSHIP Appication for schoarships shoud be submitted in the prescribed form to the Principa, within 30 days from the date of reopening of the institution or admission of the candidate to the institution. Students shoud submit a the certificates required pertaining to the nature of Schoarship. No student wi be permitted to hod more than one schoarship at a time. 16 Coege Rues And Reguations ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR UG A UG Programs are four years A pass in HSC (Academic) Maths, Physics & Chemistry with required marks. A Pass in HSC( vocationa stream)with Engineering Vocationa subjects and any one or two of reated subjects( Maths, Physics & Chemistry) with required marks Dipoma in one of the Engineering courses( Mechanica, Eectrica or Eectronics) Any other equivaent quaification approved by the State Board of Technica Education/ Higher Secondary Board of Tami Nadu. For SC/ST candidates, a mere pass in the quaifying examination wi suffice. Candidates beonging to communities other than SC/ST shoud have obtained the foowing minimum marks. LATERAL ENTRY SCHEME Candidates with a dipoma fufiing the foowing requirements can appy for admission to the II Year of B.E. under the atera entry Scheme. Candidates who have passed B.Sc. degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects are aso eigibe to appy. Eigibiity Average Marks in Dipoma for II Year B.E. Admission. 13

17 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR PG ( M.E. DEGREE) A candidate shoud have competed passed the B.E. Degree examination in the respective Branch of engineering of Anna University or equivaent examination of any other University/ Institution. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR PG ( MCA) A pass in a recognized bacheor's degree of minimum three years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 eve or at graduate eve and obtained ateast 50% in the quaifying degree examination. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR PG ( MBA) A pass in a recognized bacheor's degree of minimum three years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 eve or at graduate eve and obtained ateast 50% in the quaifying degree examination. ADMISSIONS The intake capacity of each programme, incuding the number of seats to be reserved for students of different categories sha be decided by foowing the Government directives and Counci approvas. Admissions to the first year of a the programmes sha be made before the start of each academic year, through the Counseing conducted by the Government. The coege sha aso admit a imited number of students of Non- Resident Indian (NRI)as per government rues There sha aso be a merit-based, atera admission of students having Dipoma quaification to the second year of a the programmes at the Coege in accordance with the Government rues appicabe for such admissions The Coege reserves the right to revoke the admission made to a candidate, if it is found at any time after admission that he/she does not fufi a the requirements stipuated in the offer of admission. The Coege aso reserves the right to cance the admission of any student and discontinuehis/her studies at any stage of studentship for any indiscipine conduct. EXAMINATION SYSTEM Coege Rues And Reguations Performance in each course of study sha be evauated based on Continuous Interna Assessment throughout the semester and University examination at the end of the semester. 14

18 Coege Rues And Reguations Each course, both theory and practica (incuding project work & viva voce Examinations) sha be evauated for a maximum of 100 marks. The interna assessment for a theory and practica courses incuding project work is for 20 marks whie the End- Semester University examination wi be for 80 marks. The University examinations (Theory and Practica) of 3 hours duration sha ordinariy be conducted between October and December during the odd semesters and between Apri and June during the even semesters. The evauation of project work is done by an externa examiner and an interna examiner, foowed by a viva-voce examination conducted separatey for each student. CONTINUOUS INTERNAL ASSESSMENTS 15 A assessments of a course wi be done on absoute marks basis. As per Anna University reguations three Continuous Interna Assessments are conducted every semester. The students wi attempt each Interna Examination for 50 marks. The marks obtained sha be proportionatey reduced for 20 marks and rounded to the nearest integer. The interna marks are added to the semester marks obtained by each student to be evauated for a maximum of 100 marks for each subject. PASSING REQUIREMENTS FOR UNIVERSITY A candidate who secures 50 and above percentage of tota marks prescribed for the course [Interna Assessment + End semester University Examinations] sha be decared to have passed the course and acquired the reevant number of credits. This is appicabe for both theory and practica courses (incuding project work). If a candidate fais to secure a pass in a particuar course, it is mandatory that he/she sha register and reappear for the examination during the subsequent semester when examination is conducted for that course. ATTENDANCE Every student is expected to attend a casses and secure 100% attendance. However, in order to give provision for certain unavoidabe reasons the student is expected to attend at east 75% of the casses. If any student is found to ag beow 75% of attendance prescribed by the University, the particuar student wi be debarred from appearing for the end semester examinations and in compiance with the university rues

19 Coege Rues And Reguations wi have to repeat the same semester. However, a candidate who secures overa attendance between 65% and 74% in the current semester due to medica reasons (proonged hospitaization / accident / specific iness) / participation in sports events may be permitted to appear for the current semester examinations subject to the condition that the candidate sha submit the medica certificate / sports participation certificate attested by the Head of the Institution satisfying the requirement of minimum 75% attendance. The same sha be forwarded to the Controer of Examinations for record purposes. Candidates who secure ess than 65% overa attendance sha not be permitted to write the University examination at the end of the semester and aso are not permitted to move to the next semester. They are required to repeat the incompete semester in the next academic year, as per the norms prescribed. REVALUATION A candidate can appy for a photocopy of his/her semester examination answer script in a theory course, within 2 weeks from the decaration of the resuts, on payment of the prescribed fee to the Controer of Examinations through the Head of Institution. The answer script is to be evauated and justified by a facuty member, who handed the subject and recommend for revauation with breakup of marks for each question. Based on the recommendation, the candidate can register for the revauation through proper appication to the Controer of Examinations. The resuts wi be intimated to the candidate concerned through the Head of the Institution. Revauation is not permitted for practica courses and for project work. A candidate can appy for revauation of answer scripts not exceeding 5 subjects at a time. GRADE - GP, GPA & CGPA The marks scored by the student wi be converted into Grades (G) and Grade Points (GP). A assessments of a course wi be done on absoute marks basis. However, for the purpose of reporting the performance of a candidate, etter grades, each carrying certain number of points, wi be awarded as per the range of tota marks (out of 100) obtained by the candidate in each subject as detaied beow: 16
