2 Foreword Thank you for taking the time to look at the prospectus to become a Certified Hypnotherapist with the National Guild of Hypnotists,Inc. - the world s oldest and largest hypnosis organisation and I hope it helps you make the right decision in choosing the very best training programme for you. Hypnotherapy is an exciting and growing profession and I am very pleased that you are considering training with us to become a qualified hypnotherapist. This innovative programme is designed to give the participants a thorough working understanding of hypnotherapy. Our focus at Advanced Hypnosis Training is to give every student a valuable balance of practical and theoretical learning and upon completion all students will have the tools and confidence needed to be successfully practice hypnotherapy. To do this we keep the class numbers limited, encouraging all the participants to contribute interact and develop their own skills and knowledge throughout the process. Participants will learn use how to produce the hypnotic state and use it skillfully and effectively in a therapeutic setting using numerous techniques. We want to ensure that everyone upon completion is fully equipped to run a successful hypnotherapy practice. Few professions are as interesting or rewarding as hypnotherapy. Becoming a truly successful hypnotherapist is more than just understanding the techniques and therapeutic processes; it is helping people change their lives for the better and as a result we make sure all our students have a complete and thorough understanding of the all their responsibilities as hypnotherapists. The training course we offer is internationally recognised and is registered and certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists,Inc. (NGH), the world s largest and oldest hypnosis organisation. Furthermore, with Advanced Hypnosis Training Limited s GHSC Accredited Training School status, the NGH Hypnotherapy Certification forms the first component (Module One) of our Advanced Hypnosis Practitioner Diploma, which has been externally assessed and validated by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) in the UK and the Professional Hypnotherapy Network (PHN). 4 ü By learning an array of approaches during the course you will learn to help clients with an array of therapeutic approaches such as dealing with phobias, anxiety, habits etc., often in one session. ü As well as learning how to create and provide Weight Loss and Stress Management programmes. ü We will study using hypnotic regression and the therapeutic approaches used to effectively treat and resolve the issues it uncovers. ü As a CRSST Affiliated Training School our students will be trained to conduct a one session Stop Smoking Programme and become members of the Central Register for Stop Smoking Therapists (at an additional cost). ü We will instill in all our students the importance of maintaining professional ethics for both their own individual success and the success of the profession. YOUR TRAINER NICK EBDON NGH CI, NGH BCH, CT.NLP, DipCBT, CNHCreg, GHRreg, MIACT. Nick is a Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist, Coach and Mentor with offices in the City of London and Kent. Nick first studied CBT before training to become a qualified hypnotherapist. He subsequently trained to become a Certified Instructor, initially with the NGH (with whom he is also Board Certified) and then subsequently OMNI Hypnosis. He is trained in NLP and is also a certified NLP Trainer. Nick has studied both in the UK and USA with some of the leading instructors in the world including Gerald Kein, and Don Mottin to name a few. In the summer of 2014 Nick was described by Dr Dwight Damon the President of the NGH as one of the Guild s Premier Trainers. Before focusing on hypnotherapy Nick worked as an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley where he headed up a trading team. 5 of stress and the pressures of corporate environments. It has also given him years of experience in how to communicate and present at every level of business and as a result Nick is recruited as a business consultant for a number of different businesses. Nick is the owner and director of Advanced Hypnosis Training Ltd and Ebdon Wellness Ltd, a yoga studio and training facility. When not working, Nick spends a lot of time relaxing with his wife, three children and three dogs. Humour, energy and an ability to keep those in attendance interested are the reasons that his classes have proved successful. Some of his students have chosen to attend classes more than once and many have enrolled on additional workshops after enjoying a class. 6 The Course The core of this course is the 300 page National Guild of Hypnotists,Inc. (the world s oldest and largest hypnosis organisation) Certified Training Manual. The course will consist of 8 days of classroom training to be held in the City of London or at The Ebdon Wellness Centre in Kent/SE - from 8.30am to 6pm which shall include breaks for refreshments and lunch. In addition to learning the core curriculum set by the NGH, students of this certification class will learn additional and innovative hypnosis and NLP techniques and processes to complement their future hypnotherapy practice. On top of the classroom training, there will be a level of home study, recommended reading, assignments and case studies for individuals to complete. It is imperative to us that not only do you fully understand the theory and techniques used in Hypnotherapy, but also be able to demonstrate a competency in practical approach work and application. Therefore, much of the course will involve each student interactively participating by way of extensive practice time and demonstrating approaches and techniques as they learn them. The NGH Certificate in Hypnotherapy offered by Advanced Hypnosis Training has been assessed and accredited as Module One (of two) of the Advanced Hypnosis Practitioner Diploma by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (UK) and PHN. The second module, The Advanced Practitioner Certification, is an 8-day course focusing on enhancing your hypnotherapy practice with advanced techniques and other modalities. This course is only available to previously qualified hypnotherapists, though only those students who have successfully completed Module One (this course) in advance, may gain accreditation. Once both modules have been successfully completed, graduates are eligible for professional registration with the Professional Hypnotherapy Network and General Hypnotherapy Register (the GHSC s Registering Agency) at full Practitioner status, together with the acquisition of the industry-based award the General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP). 8 Qualifications Upon successful completion of the course you will become a Certified Hypnotherapist and as a result you will receive: ü A Certificate in Hypnotherapy from Advanced Hypnosis Training Limited. ü Certification from the National Guild of Hypnotists, Inc. (NGH) as a Certified Hypnotherapist ü Certification as a smoking cessation specialist (CRSST) You will be eligible to use the letters NGH CH (Certified Hypnotherapist) or DipHyp (Diploma in Hypnotherapy) after your name. In addition to becoming a member of the NGH you will also be eligible to apply for membership of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) once you have completed Module Two (Advanced Practitioner Certification) of the Advanced Hypnosis Practitioner Diploma. If you decide to enroll on both modules, once successfully completed and you apply to join the GHR then, on acceptance and payment of their membership fee, you will receive their certificate of membership and be entitled to use the initials GQHP. This will also give you eligibility for registration with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). You will also be able to become a registered member of the CRSST (Central Register of Stop Smoking Therapists) as you will be trained to provide specialist smoking cessation programmes. Lessons 1-5 include all preliminary material before actually hypnotising clients. This includes suggestibility tests, history and theories. 2. Lessons 6-10 cover How to hypnotise, including the depth stages of hypnosis, emerging procedures. 3. Lessons cover more advanced hypnosis methods and the development of Suggestions. 4. Applications of hypnosis are discussed including smoking cessation, weight control and stress management programs in lessons Lessons cover further advanced techniques, including the complete self-hypnosis segment, in order to teach a self-hypnosis technique to all clients. 6. 10 Accreditation and Professional Validation Advanced Hypnosis Training Limited are Certified International Instructors of the National Guild of Hypnotists,Inc. and formerly OMNI and the NFNLP. The entire course is also externally assessed and validated by the Professional Hypnotherapy Network and General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. The National Guild of Hypnotists,Inc. (NGH) - Established in 1950, the NGH is both the largest and oldest hypnotherapy certifying body in the world. Based in New Hampshire, USA it has in the region of 14,000 members worldwide. It provides its national and international members with some of the most comprehensive and consistently high quality literature in the field of professional hypnosis including the Journal of Hypnotism, the Hypno- Gram and Hypnosis Today. Once a year it holds its convention every August in Marlborough, Massachusetts which attracts the world s largest annual gathering of hypnotists in the world. In 2014 your trainer Nick Ebdon was very proud to have been described by Dr Dwight Damon the President of the NGH (pictured left with Nick) as one of the Guilds Premier Instructors. The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) - The Advanced Hypnosis Practitioner Diploma offered by Advanced Hypnosis Training has been assessed and accredited at Practitioner Level by the Professional Hypnotherapy Newtork and the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (UK). Graduates from the NGH Certificate in Hypnotherapy and the Advanced Practitioner Certification (Modules One and Two of the Advanced Hypnosis Practitioner Diploma) are eligible for professional registration with the Professional Hypnotherapy Network and General Hypnotherapy Register (the GHSC s Registering Agency) at full Practitioner status, together with the acquisition of the industry-based award the General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP). 11 Post Qualification Requirements. After successful completion of the NGH Certificate in Hypnotherapy students will be required to undertake CPD (continual professional development) to keep abreast of innovation, news, techniques and developments within the field of hypnotherapy and related approaches. In addition, for those taking this as part of the Advanced Hypnosis Practitioner Diploma, the PHN and GHR will expect newly qualified practitioners to engage in a minimum of 2 hours supervision in any 3 month period during their first 2 years of practice after qualification. Supervision may be via one-to-one sessions or via a peer support group. AHT Training will facilitate and provide this ongoing supervision for all of its students for the two years after graduation and beyond. Registrants of the PHN and GHR are expected to participate in relevant CPD activity for a minimum of 25 hours annually whilst registered with the GHR. The GHR s definition of CPD includes appropriate reading, internet research or personal attendance at relevant workshops. The National Guild of Hypnotists requires 15 hours of continuing education credits (CEU s) or 15 hours of CPD annually to maintain active certification as a practising hypnotherapist. Course Fees The tuition fee is for the 8 day NGH Certificate in Hypnotherapy. Unless agreed separately, tuition fees will be due in full at least 21 days before the start of the course. A deposit of 150 will be required upon enrolment and to secure the place. As this deposit secures the written material from the NGH it is non-refundable. Our fees encompass the full NGH training manual, additional material and tuition. It also includes a full year s membership of the National Guild of Hypnotists. There will be additional costs for recommended reading which the students are expected to provide themselves. Advanced Hypnosis Training Ltd and the National Guild of Hypnotists,Inc. are not responsible for the cost of any professional insurance the students will require as hypnotherapists, nor the additional cost of professional membership to professional organisations such as the PHN, GHR, CNHC, CRSST or NCH. Ask about available savings when booking the NGH Certificate in Hypnotherapy (Module One) and the Advanced Practitioner Certification (Module Two) together for the GHSC Accredited Advanced Hypnosis Practitioner Diploma. *Also ask about any payment plans being offered to prospective students. 12 Terms and Conditions A deposit will be required upon booking, this will be and as stated in the course fees, is nonrefundable should you be permitted to take the course*. Should an applicant be considered unsuitable Advanced Hypnosis Training reserves the right to refuse enrolment without explanation and their deposit refunded. The remaining balance should be paid no later than 21 days before commencement unless previously agreed. As at the time of printing the course syllabus is correct, or relevant amendments to the core curriculum have been conveyed by the National Guild of Hypnotists Professional Development Division. However, it may be necessary for us to make changes and corrections to the content, dates or venue. Diplomas/certificates will be awarded at the end of the course to those students who have successfully completed the full course, completed all the assignments, completed an oral and written test and shown competency over the duration of the course. Applicants who have not completed the full hours of classroom training (for whatever reason) will be required to attend further training days for which they may incur an additional charge. *We aim to hold classes of between 4 and 14 students per class. In the event of failing to enroll the minimum number per class, all fees will be fully reimbursed. We may offer larger classes but we aim to keep numbers to a manageable level. Cancellation Policy 1. A deposit is required to secure an applicant s place on the course and once this place has been confirmed, you are liable for the full course fees unless we receive written notification of cancellation. We do however provide a generous money back guarantee (see no.4). 2. Should the course be cancelled you will be refunded the deposit and any other monies owed (except the individuals outlay for recommended reading). 3. The deposit is non-refundable unless the course has been cancelled or the applicant has been deemed unsuitable. 4. Advanced Hypnosis Training offers the following money back guarantee A full refund (minus the deposit) will be given should you decide by lunchtime on the first day that the course is not for you, after which any refund will be at the discretion of the course Director. 5. Bookings cancelled more than 21 days prior to the commencement of the course will be awarded a full refund (minus the non-refundable deposit). 6. For bookings cancelled 21 days or less before the commencement of the course, no refund will be given unless a discretionary decision has been taken to do so by the Course Director. 7. Should you not attend the course any refund given will be at the discretion of the Course Director. 8. If participating in a payment plan, please read the T&Cs regarding deposits and non payments.
