1 Eastern Shore Higher Education Center Salisbury University * UMES * Stevenson University * UMUC La Salle University/RTC * Notre Dame of Maryland University The Eastern Shore Higher Education Center, located on the Chesapeake College Wye Mills Campus, offers upper-division courses towards bachelor s and graduate degrees. The mission of the Center is to promote higher education and economic development in the region by offering a range of postsecondary programs and services in its state-of-the-art facility. Registration is conducted by each credit-granting institution. Please contact Salisbury University, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), Stevenson University (formerly Villa Julie College), University of Maryland University College (UMUC), La Salle / RTC, or Notre Dame of Maryland University to complete the application and registration process. Students must have an Associate of Arts degree and/or meet program entrance requirements in order to qualify for bachelor s degree programs. There must be sufficient enrollment in each class in order for the institution to offer the courses listed. The schedules listed on the home university or college website will be official. Please check for any changes or cancellations on the website of the university or college offering the course. The following degrees and programs are currently offered at the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center. The Center is the ideal location for regional meetings, complete with high speed wifi, free parking and onsite catering services. Classrooms are available for small meetings and seminars. A computer lab accommodates technology training needs for up to 20 participants. A large amphitheatre is available and can be set up in theatre-style or workshop-style seating. Candidates must meet all AAT and articulation requirements, or be accepted into the program by Salisbury University. A new cohort will start once each year. 4 University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Bachelor s in Human Ecology Child Development Classes are now being offered for those individuals seeking a Bachelor s Degree in Early Childhood. This degree does not meet the requirements for a teaching certificate. For additional information on this degree program, please contact Dr. Grace Namwamba at UMES, or at gnamwamba@umes.edu. PhD in Organizational Leadership UMES will offer their Doctoral Program in Organizational Leadership with the cohort members attending one class at the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center, one class on line, and one class on the UMES Campus each semester. Classes will follow a weekend model with classes taking place on Friday evenings, all day Saturday and all day Sunday for two weekends. This schedule will continue for the entire cohort program. 6 Notre Dame of Maryland University NEW PROGRAM OFFERING!!! Special Education Accelerated Certification for Teaching (ACT) Program This program is ideal for individuals who have a minimum of a bachelor s degree and wish to pursue Special Education teacher certification. All classes will be held onsite at the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center or will be online. Students may also complete the Masters of Arts in Teaching for Special Education.
