HE Instituti Summary of offer Ctact To be updated E 1 Anglia Ruskin University The Anglia Ruskin University Graduate Internships provide a 12 week placement opportunity for a newly qualified Lynsey McCulloch graduate seeking employment to undertake a specified project which will improve the host organisati's performance. The cost of engaging a graduate intern to the partner business, public body, or third sector organisati is 175 per week plus VAT. The graduate intern will receive 250 per week under a training ctract through the University. Projects of less than 12 weeks durati may be csidered providing they are at least a minimum of 8 weeks. To ensure the host organisati is provided with a suitable graduate intern the University provides a dedicated support service to help identify an appropriate individual. E 2 Norwich University College of the Arts The funding will be used to place 25 internships to businesses and organisatis for 12 weeks each. The scheme provides an opportunity for companies to discover and nurture new talent emerging from the University College and to help retain graduates in the regi. Graduates will be paid the natial minimum wage by employers, who will receive a substantial subsidy from the University, reducing the cost to a typical 145 per week. The University will shortlist candidates from a pool of prescreened graduates with relevant skills. Companies will have the opportunity to assess graduates before committing to the internship. Companies and employees will receive full support to make sure both parties benefit fully from the scheme. E 4 University of East Anglia The University of East Anglia (UEA) will be supporting an internship programme that offers paid 4-12 week internships, a full or part-time basis, to graduates in Norfolk and Suffolk. The Graduate Internship Programme is designed to match up recent graduates with graduate level vacancies or strategic projects identified by business and is being run in close partnership with the Federati of Small Businesses. E 5 University of Essex The University will be arranging internships for businesses based mainly in Essex and Suffolk. We welcome enquiries from all businesses and particularly medium to large organisatis in informati and communicati technology, financial and professial sectors and small businesses in any sector. The internships will be flexible, including full and part-time and for periods from e to four mths. E 6 University of Hertfordshire The scheme runs over a 12 week period and in effect allows you to ensure the graduate is adding value to your business without lg term commitment. An initial meeting will establish the goals and milestes that will help the graduate intern deliver to the needs of the business. Writtle has csiderable expertise in working with a range of employers in the land based sector, allied industries and beyd. EM 8 De Mtfort University De Mtfort is the lead instituti for the East Midlands regial collaborati. Each instituti will provide a flexible delivery model, depending its own expertise and the requirements of business. Opportunities will be shared across the institutis to ensure that businesses are provided with the most effective and efficient support. Internships will primarily be provided for 3-6 mths. A CV matching service will be offer for all employers. Institutis are aiming to provide the full 1,600 to the employer as wage subsidy, although this amount will differ between partners. The collaborati will provide support to all sizes of business in all sectors. Ref. HE Instituti Summary of offer Ctact To be updated LN 10 Brunel University Brunel University are offering an internship service spanning a number of industries including the professial and financial services; engineering and cstructi and life sciences and pharmaceuticals. Each internships will be offered a minimum of 3 mths placement, at c. 7 per hour, 35 hours per week. LN 11 City University Graduate Interns will be placed e of at least 18 separate commercialisati projects at the University as unique or additial resources. Most of these projects reside in the sectors / themes of low-carb products & services, digital industry, or life sciences & pharmaceuticals. Working algside the existing academic & intern project teams, the new interns will undertake e or more of the following for the projects to which they are assigned: help map routes to market; undertake intensive market research; write business plans to raise funding. Each internship will be offered a maximum of 3 mths placement, with a wage offer of approximately 1600 for the durati. Please note: There has been high demand for these internships and there may not be vacancies. The ctact can provide advice the full range of internships offer at City University, not all of which will attract a subsidy. LN 12 Kingst University Kingst University are offering an internship service across a range of industries, working with both large and small business. LN 15 Thames Valley University TVU are offering an internship service based with employers in the digital industry and the Professial and financial services Interns will be offered a 6-8 week programme, in which the participants will get 30 days (6 weeks) of graduate level work experience and additially two weeks of career developmental support to fully prepare them for applicatis / interviews. Interns will be paid 250 per week for the 6 weeks. LN 16 University College Ld UCL are working in collaborati with the Royal Veterinary College to deliver an internship scheme amg a variety of sectors, including the digital industry, life sciences and pharmaceuticals and the professial and financial services. Internships will be for six weeks, plus e week of training at UCL/RVC. Interns would be paid the minimum wage (approximately 205 per week) for a 35 hour working week. You receive a subsidy which means that if you are a company employing fewer than 50 people you ly pay 30% of the total cost which equates to 636. Larger companies can also access a subsidy at 45% of the total cost. NE 22 University of Durham The aim is to give unemployed and underemployed graduates work experience and encourage employers to csider employing a new graduate. There will be up to 40 Graduate Internships with natial and regial employers funded for four weeks and the graduate paid a minimum 300 per week. The employer is encouraged to keep the graduate beyd this subsidy period. NE 23 University of Northumbria Northumbria University is offering funding support to employers who wish to recruit graduate interns. University business development staff will maintain ctact with each intern in order to foster relatiships with their host business. Ref. The University will issue the ctract of employment reducing the us placed the business which in-turn should increase the attracti of engaging with the scheme. NW 26 Manchester Metropolitan University The university will use the graduate internship funding to work primarily with small companies. The funding will provide a direct 1000 ctributi to a small company to assist in the cost of employing an unemployed graduate a discrete 8-12 week internship. Feedback from employers has been that this kind of scheme effectively provides a paid 2 or 3 mth work-trial. NW 27 University of Central Lancashire Internships are typically 6-14 weeks but we have offered lger internships to organisatis that have agreed to provide what we perceive to be the best opportunities for our graduates. As well as funding the internships themselves, we will recruit graduates to the programme and provide mentoring and development support to interns. NW 28 University of Chester The University of Chester proposes to offer 5 week (175 hours) internships. The University of Chester will focus SMEs in the sectors detailed above. NW 30 University of Salford The 1,600 provided will be used to pay graduates undertaking internships in the priority sectors, as detailed above. Employers will ctribute to the level of pay to ensure that is equal to / exceeds the adult natial minimum wage ( 5.80 per hour). As part of this offer, small employers with limited HR systems in place will be offered the opportunity to have supported recruitment whereby the University of Salford will administer HR ctracts and functis, and administer payment of graduates. SE 31 Buckinghamshire New University Buckinghamshire New University will offer 40 graduate internships. These will be arranged mainly for small businesses and larger companies in the digital industry sector. A wage subsidy of 1,200 will be available for a 12 week internship. SE 32 Canterbury Christ Church University Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) will deliver 35 graduate internships with small businesses. The internship is for a maximum period of three mths. 1,500 will be available to support the intern. A CV Matching service will ensure that there is mutual benefit for graduate and employer. SE 33 Oxford Brookes University Oxford Brookes will deliver 60 graduate internships. These will cover all 7 sectors and are principally for small businesses in the Oxfordshire area. Approximately 1,000 will be available to the employer as a wage subsidy. Oxford Brookes will offer the employer an intern for a minimum period of 3 mths. SE 34 Southampt Solent University Three universities - the University of Southampt, University of Winchester and Southampt Solent University will deliver 80 graduate internships. Interested companies need to be based in Hampshire. 1,350 will be available to support the intern. SE 35 University for the Creative Arts UCA will delivery 75 graduate internships in the regi. These will be arranged mainly in the digital industry sector and especially in the small businesses. UCA will work with its industry partners and networks to identify potential host companies. Each company will be offered an opportunity to attend a mentoring workshop. Companies will be asked to provide the graduates with some mentoring support to ensure lger term impact. Companies will be selected according to a set of criteria: quality of project to be undertaken; health & safety policy; indemnity insurance in place; commitment to staff development; sector fit (digital); potential employment prospects for graduates. SE 36 University of Bright The University of Bright will offer 35 graduate internships. The internship csists of a six week full-time placement and integrated employability programme with an appropriate wage subsidy available. These will be arranged in all sectors and targeted at small, medium and large sized companies. The internships should be a minimum of 13 weeks. 1,200 will be available as a wage subsidy. SE 39 University of Reading The University of Reading will deliver 45 graduate internships through its GradSEED programme. 1,000 will be available to the employer for a job subsidy, a 13 week internship. These will be especially targeted at small businesses in Oxfordshire and Berkshire in any sector interested in employing a graduate. SW 44 University of the West of England University of the West of England has been awarded significant funds to help graduates from any UK higher educati instituti find paid internships and support burgeing industries in the Bristol and surrounding regis. Each employer will receive 1600 from UWE to subsidise a paid internship of at least 250 per week for a minimum of 8 weeks. Internships will run for 4-8 weeks. 1,200 will be available for internship wage costs with an extra 150 for an employee to mentor the intern whilst the placement. Business needs will be assessed prior to the start of the internship, and full support will be available when the internship starts. SW 48 Arts University College at Bournemouth The Arts University College at Bournemouth offers high quality specialist educati in art, design, media and performance across the creative industries. Our Graduate Internship Programme links employers with graduates giving an opportunity for employers to explore the benefits of recruiting a graduate for a period of 8-13 weeks with up to 100 per week offer to support the wage of the graduate. SW 49 University of Plymouth The University of Plymouth is launching its Plymouth Graduate Internship Programme (PGIP). The University will be working with businesses in Dev and Cornwall to place skilled graduates for a minimum of eight weeks (no durati limit). Businesses will benefit from receiving up to 1450 towards the salary costs of the intern, in additi to receiving a FREE recruitment service from the PGIP team.
