1 FROM CENTRAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE OF THE BIBLE TO OTHER INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION The transfer of credits from one institution to another can be a complicated process. The following information may help you understand it better. 1) According to established practice in American higher education, receipt of credit is neither automatic nor obligatory; the receiving institution has the exclusive right to accept or reject credits earned at another college or university. Central Christian College of the Bible (CCCB) accepts credits earned at other institutions subject to specifications published in the college catalog (pp. 15, 39) under the headings Transfer Students/Transfer of Credits. Although these policies are typical, other schools policies should always be consulted before students attempt to transfer credits or degrees from CCCB. 2) Transfer of credits for individual courses between any two institutions is subject to generallyaccepted standards including minimum grade (usually C ) and whether those courses meet the requirements of a specific program at the receiving school. 3) Established practice provides for the routine transfer of credits between institutions affiliated with the same or similar accrediting associations. Central Christian College of the Bible is accredited by the association recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Education to accredit Bible colleges. This nationallyrecognized accreditation is described in the college catalog (pp. 5-6), under the heading Central s Accreditation and Approval. The following paragraphs appear there: ACCREDITATION Central Christian College of the Bible holds accredited status at the institutional level with the Commission on Accreditation of The Association for Biblical Higher Education, 5575 S. Semoran Blvd. Suite 26, Orlando, Florida, Ph. (407) Central was granted accreditation status in October 1982, and it was reaffirmed in 1987, 1992, and 2003.ABHE is also listed by the United States Department of Education as a recognized agency for biblical higher education. ABHE is recognized by the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education, the theological education affiliate of the World Evangelical Alliance. The Association s member institutions are recognized by the Department of Justice, the Veteran s Administration, and other relevant federal agencies in the United States. Member colleges of ABHE are also recognized by CHEA (Council for Higher Education Accreditation), the national accrediting organization that serves as an umbrella over all the recognized accrediting bodies, including the regional associations. APPROVAL The churches have indicated their approval of Central Christian College of the Bible by their support in financial gifts, by sending men and women to be trained for Christian service, and by employing Central alumni. As a result of being listed in the Directory of Higher Education, Central is approved by the Missouri Department of Higher Education for certification and distribution of 8/25/2017

2 veteran s benefits allowing veterans to receive all the benefits they have earned by serving our country. As a United States Department of Education approved institution, Central students are eligible for participation in Federal grant and loan programs. Central participates in the Pell Grant Program, the Work-Study Program, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant Program, the Academic Competitiveness Grant program, as well as the Federal Stafford Student and Parent PLUS Loan Programs. 4) Most colleges and universities accept credits from public and private schools listed in the Higher Education Directory. Central Christian College of the Bible is listed in that directory and in several others. 5) Special articulation agreements established between individual institutions may provide for more or less automatic recognition of credits or degrees earned at other schools. Central Christian College of the Bible has several of these agreements, such as the ones with Moberly Area Community College and Hannibal-LaGrange College in Hannibal, Missouri. For an expanded list of these agreements, see the college catalog (pp. 42,50). 6) The track record of student performance established by students who transfer from one school to another may make it easier for a receiving institution to feel comfortable accepting credits from another school. 3 University of Phoenix (Online)(Phoenix, AZ) Western Governors University (Online) (Salt Lake City, UT) William Woods University (Fulton, MO) 7) Students hoping to transfer course credits or degrees earned at CCCB to another institution should understand that some schools do not recognize ABHE accreditation. In some cases the institution is unaware of ABHE standards (which are equivalent to those of the regional associations) or of ABHE s recognition by CHEA. In other cases it is the institution s blanket policy to refuse receipt of credit from any institution that is not accredited by a regional accrediting association. Students are urged to contact the receiving school prior to enrollment to learn how the policies of that school affect receipt of CCCB credits and degrees. 8) If after a routine evaluation of your transcript you are initially refused receipt of credit, you may find it helpful to request a review of this Statement by the Registrar, Dean, or Department Head in the receiving school. Also, you should know that at many graduate schools, an entering student may enroll as a post-baccalaureate and earn up to 9 hours of graduate credit before applying officially for admission to a degree program. Academic performance at a sufficiently high level during postbaccalaureate coursework may enable the student to meet admission requirements in spite of a prior refusal to accept his or her degree. 4 Academic Agreements Central Christian College of the Bible has entered into agreements with other academic institutions in order to best meet the needs of students. Heartland Christian College 500 New Creation Road North, Newark, MO Graduates of Heartland Christian College may transfer to Central Christian College of the Bible (CCCB) as juniors and have credits from Heartland transfer into the Bachelor of Religious Studies in Christian Leadership, and the Bachelor of Science in Christian Education. These degrees may be taken on campus at CCCB. Regular costs apply. Moberly Area Community College 101 College St, Moberly, MO Students may dual enroll at Moberly Area Community College (MACC) and Central Christian College of the Bible (CCCB). While pursuing a degree in ministry at CCCB, students may utilize professional studies credits or certificates earned at MACC as part of their degree requirements. The Associate of Professional Arts degree at CCCB will accept 16 hours of professional studies credits from MACC. The Bachelor of Religious Studies in Missional Occupations will accept at least 30 hours of professional studies credits from MACC. Courses at MACC may be taken in the classroom, as hybrid courses, or online courses. Students may also pursue the Associate of Arts degree at MACC. Dual Enrolled students must take no less than 15 hours at MACC and satisfy the requirements for the AA at MACC by transferring CCCB credits to MACC. Students may live in the dormitory at CCCB. Courses at MACC may be taken in the classroom, as hybrid courses, or online courses. Students who are dual enrolled at CCCB will receive a grant worth up to $6400 for 32 hours of credit for their MACC expenses. Expenses above $200 per hour at MACC are the responsibility of the student. Most expenses for the professional studies courses are covered by this grant. Fees for various programs, such as nursing, will not be completely covered by this grant. Students must contact MACC to determine current fees for classes. Lincoln Christian University 100 Campus View Dr, Lincoln, IL Students at Central Christian College of the Bible (CCCB) may supplement their schedule as necessary with online courses at Lincoln Christian University. LCU courses are all online. Online students are charged CCCB tuition for LCU courses and Central onsite students may take one online course per semester that is covered by their fees. CCCB & LCU partner for a dual enrollment program through which the student may earn two bachelor s degrees in five years. The student earns a Bachelor of Science in Bible degree from CCCB and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from LCU. LCU accepts transfer credits from CCCB 4

5 into the BA-BA program. The LCU courses are online and require specific general studies courses that are part of the CCCB degree. The LCU courses are online courses. The dual enrolled student receives a $200 per hour grant from CCCB for the LCU courses. The student is responsible for costs above the $200 per hour limit. Students would spend $7000 beyond the CCCB degree for the degree from LCU. Non-Degree/Certificate Granting Schools At this time, Central does not have any blanket written arrangements with non-degree/certificate granting schools. 5
