2 HOW DO I CHOOSE COURSES FOR MY ERASMUS EXCHANGE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GLASGOW? In general, the courses that you can take at will depend upon: which subject agreement you are coming to us under your specific academic background course availability 1. STEP ONE: Check the Partner Table to confirm which Agreement you are coming to under. The table is arranged by country and then by University. Under the University column, find your home university. Look across the page to the agreement subject column to see which agreements we have with your University. We may have more than one subject agreement with your University. In this case, look for the information which most closely matches your field of study. Look at the Subject Column to see which department here holds your agreement, and read any associated notes with your agreement, including whether or not you will be allowed to take courses from other subjects. 2. STEP TWO: Read the General Course Selection Information and the Selection Guide below to see if there is any subject specific information for the subjects you are interested in taking. This will guide you further towards selecting individual courses from our Course Catalogue.

3 Not all courses are incoming Erasmus Exchange students. A few subject areas do not allow students to take classes outside of the agreement subject, and a few subject areas only allow students their own subject-specific agreements onto their courses. The Guide will outline this and other relevant information. 3. STEP 3: Select a prospective courseload for your time at. The online course catalogue at: will give you a general idea of which classes are offered at the University of. You can search it by subject and by when the course is typically offered (Semester 1/Semester 2/full year course). Not all of the courses listed in the catalogue run every year, and we cannot guarantee courses in advance for Erasmus students. This catalogue is *not* built for Erasmus students. Erasmus students are considered to be a specific category of visiting students at the University of, and there are specific course selection guidelines and restrictions which will apply to you, but which are not mentioned in the online catalogue. This is why we have put together the information below.

4 GENERAL COURSE SELECTION INFORMATION Students are expected to take the majority of their classes with the subject that holds the agreement they are coming to us under. You will likely want to look at taking classes which most closely match your own year of study. offers a four-year undergraduate degree programme, so Level 1 = first year, Level 2 = second year, etc. Most of our subjects are happy to allow students to take Level 1 or occasionally Level 2 classes; Levels 3 and 4 are often restricted to students an appropriate agreement, and who have a clear background in the subject they are requesting. The credit ratio is 2 credits to 1 ECTS. Courses which are worth 20 credits are therefore worth 10 ECTS; classes which are worth 40 credits are worth 20 ECTS. Students are expected to take a full courseload at. For one semester, this is 60 credits (30 ECTS). For a full year, this is 120 credits (60 ECTS). Full year courses may not be single semester students. Courses which begin with the code DUMF are only students our Dumfries exchange agreements. Dumfries is a satellite campus which is two hours away by train; it is not possible to take classes at that campus if you are an agreement held with our Main Campus. Level 5 (postgraduate/masters level courses) are generally not available. Students who are postgraduates at their home university will likely be restricted to Levels 3 and 4 at.
