1 Assessment Plan Admin-Dean of Students Henderson State University Admin-Dean of Students Mission Statement: The Dean of Students Office serves the student body and University community by providing programs and experiences that promotes educational, cultural, recreational, social, and personal growth. The Dean of Students Office is committed to facilitating experiences and providing services to HSU students for the enhancement and enrichment of their own development. We take a holistic approach and are dedicated to assisting students to maximize their "total" college experience. Vision Statement: Vision Statements: 1. Fostering the growth and development of students in the areas of leadership and programming (educational, recreational, social, and cultural.) 2. Creating an environment where the partnership between students and professional staff encourages student involvement, responsibility, empowerment, and accountability. 3. Directing student autonomy through support, advisement and encouragement of self-advocacy to continuously build upon and benefit the community. 4. Providing an open, caring, respectful, and civil environment by welcoming our similarities and honoring our differences. 5. Supporting an inclusive and comfortable environment where programs, services, and accommodations address the needs and interests of all members of the Henderson community. 6. Providing accessible, clean, safe, healthy, and secure facilities and offering quality services for all members of the Henderson community including students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni and guests.
