2 GRADUATE Spring 2015 GS 601A Foundational Course in Systematic Theology Tue 7-10 PM Dr. Janet Haggerty This course investigates the gift of divine Revelation, its reasonability, and man s response in faith. This investigation includes an overview of the nature of Catholic systematic theology as the science of ecclesial faith with emphasis on its foundation in the writings of St. Thomas Aquinas. The relationship between faith and reason as central to the task of theology will be explored, as well as the relationship between theology, Sacred Scripture, Tradition, the Magisterium of the Church, and how to apply the truths of Faith to the issues of the world today. (3 credits) GST 613 Theology of Christ Wed 7-10 PM Fr. Robert Pesarchick This course will examine the Profession of the Christian Faith, including the doctrines of the Trinity, the twelve articles of the Apostles Creed, and the other creeds of the Church. Central to the Christian Faith is the mystery of the Triune God the Revelation of the Father as revealed by Christ through the Holy Spirit. This course studies the origins of the doctrine of the Trinity in the Sacred Scriptures, its development in Church teaching and in the history of theology, as well as contemporary teaching. This course studies the mysteries of the life of Christ, treating the New Testament origins of the Church s Christological doctrine, as well as its development in conciliar teaching and in the history of theology. This course includes an analysis of Marian doctrine in relation to Christ. (3 credits) GST 541 Epistles of St. Paul Wed 7-10 PM Fr. Patrick Brady A general introduction to the theology of St. Paul contained in the letters of the Pauline corpus. The class will begin with background information on the life and work of St. Paul reflected in Acts and in his Letters. (3 credits) UNDERGRADUATE GST 204 Introduction to Theology with Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI Tue 7-10 PM TBA This course provides an introduction to Catholic Theology based on the works of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. This course introduces students to the metaphysical and epistemological principles fundamental to Christian philosophy and the foundations of the Creed. The course serves as a general introduction to the science of theology, to theological content and to contemporary catechesis, especially the role of the Bible, Tradition, and the Magisterium in setting forth the mystery of God and His Revelation. (3 credits) GST 208 Christian Spirituality and Prayer Wed 7-10 PM TBA This course begins with a study of the spiritual teaching of the Apostolic Fathers and continues with a survey of the life and doctrine of the outstanding spiritual masters through the centuries and the various spiritual movements and schools of prayer in the Catholic tradition. (2 Credits) This class meets: Feb 4, 11, 25, Mar 4, 11, 18, 25, Apr 15, 22, 29 (ten class meetings)

4 SAINT CHARLES BORROMEO SEMINARY GRADUATE SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY and PROGRAM OF CATHOLIC STUDIES BILLING AND PAYMENT INFORMATION Billing and Payment Please pay in full for courses when you register. You may apply to the Semester Installment Payment Plan if you cannot make full payment at registration. Students who are financially delinquent will not be able to enroll in the following semester, and the Seminary has the right to withhold grades, transcripts and diploma until the student account is paid in full. Methods of Payment Tuition payments can be made by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or through the Semester Installment Payment Plan. Checks which are returned by the bank due to insufficient funds or because the account has been closed will be charged a fee of $ Checks returned due to insufficient funds will be redeposited one time only. If the check is returned by the bank a second time, the student will be required to pay by cash or certified check. Students who apply for student loans must submit a Master Promissory Note to the Financial Aid Office before any registration will be processed. Semester Installment Payment Plan St. Charles Borromeo Seminary is pleased to offer students enrolled in the Graduate School of Theology a payment plan to finance the cost of Academic Fees over the period of a semester. The plan is offered as a service to the student and allows the student to finance tuition and related costs over the period of a semester. The payment schedule calculates the balance remaining after financial aid is applied; financial aid funds, such as loans, scholarships, grants, etc. are not recognized as payments toward the payment plan. Students may still elect to make full payment at time of registration. Semester installment payments should be mailed to the Finance Office: St. Charles Borromeo Seminary Attn: Finance Office 100 E. Wynnewood Road Wynnewood, PA Questions about the Plan Who May Enroll? Graduate School of Theology students at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary whose academic and other fees total $300 or greater.

5 How does the Plan Work? The Summer Payment Plan requires a first payment of 50% of the total amount due, plus the $25 Payment Plan Fee, at registration. The remaining balance is payable to the Seminary in one monthly installments (approximately each 30 days). The Fall and Spring Payment Plan requires a first payment of 33% of the total amount due, plus the $25 Payment Plan Fee, at registration. The remaining balance is payable to the Seminary in two monthly installments (approximately each 30 days). The payment plan expires at the end of each semester and must be renewed by the student each Fall, Spring or Summer semester. What is the Cost of the Plan? The plan is interest free. The Seminary does assess a one-time administrative charge each semester to offset the additional cost of record keeping and billing. The charge is $ How Do I Enroll In the Plan? The Semester Installment Payment Plan form is available at and should be submitted with initial payment and registration form to the Finance office. St. Charles Borromeo Seminary reserves the right to refuse payment plan requests based on past performance. What if I Become Delinquent? St. Charles Borromeo Seminary will assess late fees equal to 3.75% of the balance due for payments not received as scheduled. Further, the Seminary reserves the right to assign your delinquent account to a collection agency and you will be responsible for all collection costs, any additional attorney and court costs. Checks returned by the Bank will result in removal from this plan with the entire amount becoming due and payable. What if I am a Martin de Porres Foundation student? If you are a Martin de Porres Foundation student, please follow the Martin de Porres Scholarship procedures.
