Facilitated classroom observations and supported participants as they engaged in dialogue with teachers and students, contributed to the community through a service project, and learned about Maya Ixil culture, history, and daily life. Refugee Transitions, San Francisco, California ESL & Academic Tutor (Aug May 2013), Literacy Coach (Aug March 2011) Tutored youth from Honduras and Nepal/Bhutan in the Catholic Charities Unaccompanied Refugee Minor Program. Developed, adapted, and facilitated English language and civics curriculum to newly arrived refugees from Nepal/Bhutan and delivered language assessments. Eureka! Program Manager (July 2011 April 2012), Directed an environmental-engineering college preparation program for 160 teens. Program included daily classes, workshops, summer activities, and internships. Supervised three full-time coordinators, 16 seasonal instructors, and two part-time instructors. Managed relationships with partner organizations, government funders, and foundations. Program Coordinator (October August 2010) Served as a site liaison for a STEM afterschool program serving 40 students with partner agencies and two bilingual elementary schools in Oakland s Fruitvale District. CIPA-New Orleans Professional Partnership, Ithaca, New York Co-Founder and New Orleans Project Coordinator (March 2008 May 2009) Co-designed and implemented a public service program for graduate students at the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs. Focused on policy in post-katrina New Orleans, the program included a lecture series, a public service consultancy, practicum opportunities with New Orleans-based nonprofits, and a spring break service trip. City of Pinole, California Youth Services Coordinator (May August 2007) Developed, managed, and evaluated all citywide programs for youth in grades K-12.
