3 Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), located in Mysore, India is an autonomous institute approved by the University Grant Commission, Government of India, affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and accredited by National Board of Accreditation. SJCE was started in the year It comes under the aegis of JSS Mahavidyapeeta, which is the primary institution of many such institutions. The college offers UG courses in 12 disciplines, PG courses in 17 disciplines and M.Sc. Engineering by Research and Ph.D. Programmes in all disciplines. SJCE features nationally recognized faculty who teach 26 academic programs (including MCA & MBA) at under graduate and post graduate levels in emerging disciplines, participate in vital scientific research, using modern facilities and technologies with focus and preparing technological leaders for the futures. The institution reputation for academic excellence in professionally oriented programmes, attract students across the country and world. The faculty of SJCE is noted for their distinguished background, research and the personal attention they offer to students. As one the leading institutes in India, SJCE has been recognized under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP), which is a World Bank assisted scheme. About TEQIP The ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has a Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) to improve the Quality of Technical Education in the Engineering Institutions across the country during 10 th Plan. TEQIP is funded by the World Bank through Central government and also state government. SJCE identified as lead institution under the first phase of TEQIP, topped the list of 15 engineering colleges in the state. SJCE is now also selected under subcomponent 1.2 of Phase 2 which focuses on scaling up postgraduate education and demand driven R&D and innovation. SJCE has always been a leader and is committed to fulfill the set goals.

Nema, Dept., of Civil Engg, IIT Delhi and Srinivas, Dept. of Civil, Govt. Rajendraprasad, was the coordinator for the workshop. 3 rd Sept Workshop on A journey towards Entrepreneurship organized by Dept of Industrial Production, Mrs. Savitha. M, was the coordinator for the workshop. 21 st Sept Work shop on High Rise Buildings organized by Dept. of Civil Engineering, Dr. S. Raviraj was the coordinator for the workshop.

Ltd, Bangalore was the speaker, Mrs. Savitha M was the coordinator. 7 th & 8 th Oct Diagnostic test for find out the weak student. 18 th Oct Prof. N.C Shivaparkash delivered lectures in workshop on Outcome Base Education (NBA Accreditation). 30 th Oct Work shop on New initiative in department of Technical Education held at SJCE coordinated by SPFU, Bangalore 6 th to 23 rd Nov 2013 A course on Practical approach to computer networks under finishing school organized by Dr. Anilkumar, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering. 11 th Nov 2013 Lecture on "Offshore Structures by Mr. Satish Chandra organized by Dr. S. Raviraj, Professor, Civil Engineering. 25 th Nov 2013 onwards A Finishing School on Structural analysis and design software E-Tabs started at the department of Civil Engineering. Dr. S. K. Prasad and Dr. S. Raviraj are the coordinators. A total of 50 hours of theory and practical training will be provided to M.Tech students of Industrial Structures (1 st and 2 nd Year) Total of International/National Conferences/Symposiums/Workshops held: 11.

7 Industry Institute Partnership Along with recruitment placement cell also initiated the following events: 1. BOSCH Day : The placement cell had organized a one day exhibition by BOSCH in college in 23 rd Oct 2013 for all students from Mechanical / IP / EEE passing out in The exhibition cum demonstration involved the latest products developed by BOSCH and demonstration of the same in real time vehicles. 2. Higher education opportunities in Europe: A deliberation from British Council, Chennai, had visited our college on 24 th Oct 2013 to connect with our students on higher education opportunities in Europe. They guided students on selecting the right university and the courses offered. The BRITISH COUNCIL representative Ms. Sonu Imani addressed all the Pre final students on the process of admission and other visa related queries from the students. Placement & Training. Total of 35 companies have visited during this period. A total of 599 offers have been made till date of which 523 are first job offers and 76 are the second job offer. As directed by NASSCOM, most of the companies who abide the set norms of NASSCOM with regards to mass recruiting companies visited only after the students had entered the VII semester. In this regard, all the mass recruiting services companies were scheduled from 23 rd Sept 2013 to 28 th Sept TCS received the honor of visiting the campus on the first day. TCS recruited 172. Wipro recruited 29 and IBM recruited 26 from all branches of B.E, M. Tech. & MCA

8 Efforts were made in inviting IT giants like Infosys & Accenture to campus, after a long disconnect of 5 years. This succeeded finally and both companies. They have promised to support SJCE continuously year on year. INFOSYS recruited 60 students from all branches, and Accenture recruited 105 students inclusive of both PG and UG. Along with the mass recruiting companies placement cell facilitated many dream companies like Oracle, H.P- R&D, Applied Materials, SAP, and Vmware, etc. VM WARE stands the highest paying company till date with the offer of 13 Lakh salary per annum. The second phase of recruitment started from 4 th Jan The placement cell hosted a big pool campus drive for colleges around Karnataka for H.P on 4 th & 5 th Jan A total of 970 students participated from 35 graduate colleges. In the 2 day selection process H.P offered 42 students. In addition to the above we have also invited Linkedin for the first time to SJCE, a fortune 500 company to recruit our B.E CS & IS students. They have finished the 1 st level selection (online test) process and are expected to call the shortlisted students to their Bangalore facility for Face to face interview on 23 rd Jan LinkedIn has intended to offer 16.Lakh CTC per annum.
