2 Attention CFHS Parents and Students: On Tuesday, August 30th we will be distributing venues to all students. If you wish for your child to take their venue home then a $25.00 technology fee must be paid before August 30th. This fee may be paid on My Payments Plus or at the Main Office. Taylor Steele an incredibly hardworking and motivated competitor who swims not only for the CF Panther Swim Team, but year-round for one of the local USA Swimming clubs, Coastal Aquatic Club. At Saturday s meet, Taylor was one of two female Panthers who achieved Automatic Qualifying Times for the A State Championships in October, which is a huge accomplishment after the transition to the new division. 4 Clubs: Beta Club A club interest meeting will be held on August 25th from 3:45-4:15 in room F113. Both new and returning members should plan to attend. The first meeting for accepted members will be held on September 29th. Please Mrs. Moore at emoore@horrycountyschools.net with questions or concerns. Key Club Informational meeting will be Thursday, September 1 during lunch in D108. Key Club will meet during lunch in D108 on the last Thursday of each month beginning Thursday, September 29. Math Honor Society Interest Meeting Monday, August 29 th in G109 from 3:30-3:45 SAT/ACT Math Math preparation for the SAT and the ACT exams will be offered from 3:30-4:30 on September 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd. There will not be math tutoring offered on September 29th. AP Academy There will be a meeting on Thursday, August 25, in C120 during lunch. We will be discussing privileges, internships, and community service. The AP Academy application is open and will remain open until December 16 for admittance into the program for the spring semester. Meet in F112 right after school and we will go until 5:15 Boys Basketball Fall Workouts will begin on Tuesday, September 6. We will meet at the weight room at 3:45. YOU MUST HAVE A PHYSICAL ON FILE TO PARTICIPATE! Baseball Workouts will start Sept. 6 on the field from 3:45-5:15. All participants MUST have a valid physical on file. Please stop by Coach Worley's room to pick up a workout calendar. Tutoring ACT/SAT English tutoring will start in September. Tutoring occurs Wednesdays after school from 3:25 to 4:25 in A107 with Mr. Rabon. Yearbook Yearbooks are on sale now! Place a recognition ad in the yearbook! In the future, seeing your message will bring a smile as they remember your love and support during these important years. And, it s easy to create a recognition ad. Just send us a copy of your favorite photo(s) and compose your message. While you re thinking of what your ad will look like, also think about the size of the ad space. Select from a variety of layouts. Take a look at them online at onal/career_and_technology/yearbook/yearbook_ordering/ We can even keep the ad a secret until the yearbook is distributed (but only if your son or daughter isn t on the yearbook staff).
