3 My Background Professional M.L.I.Sc & Ph.D in Library & Information Science Over 22 years experience Over 20 papers published in journals and proceedings ALA/USIA Fellow ( University of California, Irvine) Fulbright Fellow ( OCLC, Dublin, Ohio) Currently working with DA-ICT as Senior Dy. Librarian and Head of Resource Centre Personal Enjoying a happy married life with Rashmi Kumbar, who is passionate about school libraries. Have two children: Kshitij ( son, 10 year old) Kriti ( daughter, 20 months old)

7 My Library (Resource Centre) Serves as home for Library and Information Services Small, highly focused, but fast growing Collection: 18,000 books, bound volumes, AV and digital materials 300 Print journals E-journals E-Resources: ACM DL, IEL, Springer, LNCS,INSPEC, ITU, USENIX and IEEECOMSOC Tutorials 11 staff members Open on all days ( except 3 national holidays) Accommodates 450 students at a time Fully computerized, bar-coded, 3M security system installed Delivers the services through its website on Intranet

Promote the use of knowledge capabilities in making government an effective, transparent and accountable service provider to the citizen and promote widespread sharing of knowledge to maximize public benefit.

My research study under the fellowship is, A Study of Institutional Repositories and Electronic Theses and Dissertations Projects in University Libraries in Canada. --Gathering the data using published literature, websites, interacting with implementers/project Managers over the and phone. --Doing a case study of U of C Library IR Project --Required to submit a report --Encouraged to publish papers
