5 Alumni Advantage Scholarship Open Value: $2,500 Number: 2 Awarded to students with superior academic achievement enrolled in any year of an undergraduate degree and who are an alumnus, or children, grandchildren or great grandchildren of an alumnus. Selection based on demonstrated leadership through involvement in campus or community service or volunteerism, and academic standing. Applicant must not be in receipt of a major award in the current year greater than $5,000. One scholarship given to a student in first or second year and one scholarship given to a student in third or fourth year. By application to the Undergraduate Leadership Competition Annually funded by the University of Alberta Alumni Association
6 BioVision Seed Labs Scholarship Crop Science Value: $1,000 Number: 1 Awarded to a student with superior academic achievement enrolled in the second, third or fourth year of a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in Crop Science. Selection based on academic standing. Preference given to a student from a rural Alberta farming family. By application to the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences Annually funded by BioVision Seed Labs for a minimum of five years
7 Carl Amrhein Aboriginal Award Open Value:, maximum annual allocation of $2,000 Number: Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in any year of an undergraduate degree who are of Aboriginal descent under the Constitution Act, 1982, Sections 35(2) or persons accepted by one of the Aboriginal peoples of Canada as a member of their community. Preference given to students who have clearly demonstrated in their previous three years of undergraduate pharmacy their long-term interest in pursuing a career in community pharmacy management and who have a demonstrable track record of undertaking leadership roles which include community volunteerism, academic societies, and student groups during their undergraduate education. 28 Métis Nation of Alberta Undergraduate Award Open Value: Between $2,500 and $5,000 Number: Awarded to students of Métis ancestry with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in the first, second or third year of an undergraduate degree. Selection based on demonstrated involvement in the Métis community, academic standing and demonstrated financial need. In order to qualify for these awards, students cannot also be eligible for awards or funding designated for registered or treaty Indians. A student cannot receive this award and the Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) Labour Market Development sponsorship in the same academic year. 30 Northern Studies and Research Award Value: Number: Open Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in an undergraduate degree involving Northern studies and research or study leading to a Northern specialization. Northern is defined as any area of the world (Northern Hemisphere) being north of the southern limit of the boreal forest. Selection based on demonstrated commitment to pursuing Northern studies and/or research. This award is intended to provide financial support toward the cost of tuition, travel, or costs associated with research. By November 1 at the discretion of the Director or designate of UAlberta North Endowed by the International Winter Cities Committee
31 Peter Lougheed Leadership College Interdisciplinary Award Open Value: $2,500 Number: Up to 250 Funded by: Awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing entering any year of an undergraduate or graduate degree who are scholars in the Peter Lougheed Leadership College. Selection based on academic standing, and demonstrated leadership potential through involvement and participation in university or community organizations.
