We will use the biographical, academic and financial information you provide us (either directly, via a contracted Educational Representative or via UCAS) with your consent to process your enquiry or application to study with us. We will process information about you to provide academic advice, to reach a decision on your application, and where necessary, to provide immigration advice, to sponsor Tier 4 visa applications, and to comply with UK immigration law as part of forming with you a contract to educate. d. We use information about you because it is necessary to do so in order for us to provide the service you have requested and to fulfil our contract with you. In some cases, we are also legally obliged to use information about you to comply with UK Home Office regulations. e. Information about you will be shared externally with HESA (the UK Higher Education Statistics Agency), and may be shared with the UK government Home Office, Student Finance England, professional accreditation bodies and the UK Police Service where necessary in order to comply with the University s legal obligations. f. For applicants requiring Tier 4 Student visas to study in the UK, some of your data will be processed externally by the UK Visa and Immigration Authority. g. We do not use profiling or automated decision making processes. Some processes are semiautomated (such as anti-fraud data matching and Tier 4 CAS creation), but a human decision maker will always be involved before any decision is reached in relation to you. h. We will retain your data for two years following when we close your file. After this time, your data will be destroyed securely unless we are required to retain this information for a longer duration due to legal obligations to the UK government.
