2 PMA 16 & PMA 17: Srucure of he Programme The PMA programme s curriculum is spli ino wo phases, which are he coursework sage and he research sage The coursework sage consiss of wo componens: compulsory according o he respecive sub-programme mehodological (offered eiher by HSG or GSERM) During he coursework sage he following workload mus be obained: a leas one compulsory course of he relevan sub-programme a second compulsory course of any of he sub-programmes a leas wo mehodological During he disseraion phase he following workload mus be obained: a leas wo docoral colloquia As a furher achievemen eiher a hird docoral colloquium or a hird mehodological course mus be obained. 2

3 Generic Example According o he curriculum he docoral program is defined as follows Componens Characerisics for Ph.D. sudens Compulsory field sub-programme Compulsory Min. Credis Max. Credis Remarks 8 8 Toal coursework sage For each sub-programme wo compulsory (6 ECTS each) mus be obained. One compulsory course of he relevan sub-programme mus be chosen while he second one may be of any of he sub-programmes. The aendance of a hird* compulsory course is faculaive. Two mehodological wih a oal value of 8 ECTS mus be obained. A hird mehodological course may subsiue a docoral colloquium. The aendance of a fourh* mehodological course is faculaive. 0 Docoral colloquia Colloquia 8 12 One mehodological course may replace a docoral colloquium. In oal, docoral colloquia wih a oal value of 8 ECTS mus be obained afer he research proposal has been compleed. One docoral colloquium may be subsiued wih a mehodological course.
