14 OUTBOUND MOBILITY 1. Global Outreach Programme is a 7 to 14 days academic based programme to experience various cultures in other countries. It includes immersion elements such as research & academic activities, social responsibility, cross cultural activities and international event participation. 4. Internship or Research Attachment to join research study or internship under the supervision of an academic staff at universities or industries abroad. 2. Summer School Program Students can register any courses offered by host institutions during summer holiday 5. Study Abroad and Exchange Program Spend one or two semesters at universities abroad take courses in a regular semester with credit transfer. 3. International Invitation Program Students participating in programmes organized by international institutions/ organizations with the following themes: i) Academic Programme: Seminar, Conference, Paper presentation, student project competition. ii) Cultural: Cultural Exhibition and Conference, Historical and Cultural Tour iii) Student Development Activity: iv) Seminar and Courses, 14
15 INBOUND MOBILITY UTM Study Abroad and Exchange Program Spend one or two semesters take courses in a regular semester with credit transfer OR to join research study or internship under the supervision of an academic staff in UTM. UTM Research Internship UTM provides opportunities for students who are studying outside Malaysia to pursue cutting-edge transdisciplinary research work for one to two semesters. Students can apply throughout the year. UTM Summer School Program - MyTREE Spend one or two semesters take courses in a regular semester with credit transfer OR to join research study or internship under the supervision of an academic staff in UTM. Academic Visit to UTM A group of students can spend 1 to 7 days in UTM to experience the unique Southeast Asian cultures, to study the global issue or to get access to extraordinary learning opportunities. 15
16 PROPOSED ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR 2017/2018 SEMESTER 1 18 WEEKS Sept Jan 2018 SEMESTER 2 18 WEEKS Feb 2018 June 2018 Students can enroll courses in the regular semester for a minimum one semester to two semesters with/without credit transfer. Exchange Semester Application Deadline Semester I (September Jan) 30th April Semester II (February Jun) 30th September Internship Application Deadline Year-round 3 months before program starts 3 credits/course (1 credit = 1.5 ECTS) Student are usually allowed to transfer 18 credit per semester ALL COURSES ARE TAUGHT IN ENGLISH 16
