Programme Overview BA (Hons) International Fashion Business is a unique, independent top-up degree programme designed to help students with fashion industry experience and qualifications to develop their skills and take their careers further. Fashion in the 21 st Century is a truly global business. This programme is an exciting opportunity to develop a fuller understanding of the breadth and connection of the global fashion business. It enables students to experience the diverse range of career opportunities within the industry through projects related to international fashion, retail branding and visual communication. This programme aims to enable students to experience and develop an understanding of the international cultural, business and consumer diversity that influences it on a worldwide level. Regular visits and trips to seminars and events organised by the industry, trend consultancies, trade sector and government bodies will be arranged. Programme Structure The programme structure is as follows: Semester 1 Modules Lifestyle and Trend Prediction (CEF Code: 22Z ) Fashion Buying Fashion Brand Marketing and Promotion 2 Fashion Concepts & Innovation Project CEF reimbursable module Entry Requirements Holders of a Higher Diploma in Fashion, Textiles or a related discipline, preferably with a result consisting of a merit or distinction profile (supporting academic references will be required). Mature students who can provide evidence of prior professional experience of no less than 3 years with accompanying qualifications will also be considered. Applicants are required to submit a written personal statement in around 1,000 words which outlines their reasons for undertaking the programme. 2 English Proficiency Requirements An overall band score of 6.5 in IELTS, with no subtest score of less than 5.5; or A score of at least 550 in TOEFL (213 for computerbased test). (Graduates of VTC Higher Diploma are exempted from the requirements.) Assessment Assessments include project, coursework, individual and team presentations and finished reports. Qualifications Framework BA (Hons) International Fashion Business is recognised under the Qualifications Framework (QF) ( QF Level Level 5 QR Registration No. 15/002829/L5 Validity Period 01/09/ /08/2019 The QF level of this programme accredited by the HKCAAVQ is the same as that of locally-accredited honours bachelor s degree programmes. This programme is in the process of seeking re-accreditation by HKCAAVQ. The re-accreditation status of the programme is subject to final approval of HKCAAVQ.
