M.P.A. in MRIDANGA A degree in music with Mridanga as one of the optional subject with a minimum of 50% marks in the cognate subject OR a graduate with a minimum of 50% marks in the senior grade examination of Mridanga conducted by the Karnataka Secondary Education Board OR a graduate with a minimum 50% marks in a P. A. / B.S.W. graduates from recognized Universities with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate of all subjects. Eligibility under Deputation / Sponsored Category: a) Deputed Candidate means any candidate in permanent service deputed to undergo MSW Programme by Central/State Government / Public Sector undertaking provided the candidate is a Graduate from any discipline with pass class. The deputizing department / Institution shall meet all the fees and course expenses of the candidate. b) Sponsored Candidate is any Graduate with pass class and with three years of service in the field of Social welfare in a recognized institution (Registered Social Service Organizations established under Societies / Trust / Companies Act.) The sponsoring Organization must give an affidavit stating that the candidate is in employment for the past three years and give copies of last three years work reports and audited statements along with the application. DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS Jnana Bharathi Campus Course Offered - M.Sc. in Mathematics Eligibility for M.Sc. in Mathematics Graduates who have secured 40% marks in the aggregate of all subjects and at least 50% marks in Mathematics (cognate subject) at the degree level are eligible. Sc. in Psychological Counseling a) Eligibility for M.Sc. in Psychology Graduates who have secured 40% marks in the aggregate of all subjects and at least 50% marks in Psychology (cognate subject) at the degree level are eligible. b) Eligibility for M.Sc. in Psychological Counseling B.A. / B.Sc. graduates who have secured 50% marks in the aggregate of optional subjects and studied at least one paper in Psychology at the graduate level or B.Ed. or P.G. Diploma in Counselling are eligible. DEPARTMENT OF LIFE SCIENCE Courses Offered - M.Sc. in Life Sciences Eligibility for M.Sc. in Life Sciences B.Sc. graduates with any Life Science Subject as one of the optionals securing at least 50% marks in the aggregate of all optional subjects are eligible. B.Sc.(Agri) graduates are also eligible provided they have secured at least 50% marks in the aggregate of optional subjects. Preference will be given to B.Sc. graduates with sericulture as one of the optionals or PGDS. Financial Analysis Candidates having Bachelor s or Master s Degree in Commerce /Accounting/ Management/ Economics of Bangalore University or any other University and have secured at least 50% marks in the aggregate of all papers studied in the qualifying examinations are eligible. d) Eligibility for M.Com. 15 FACULTY OF EDUCATION Education Physical Education DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION Course Offered Master of Education (M.Ed.) Eligibility for M.Ed. A candidate who has passed the B.Ed. examination of this University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission to the course, provided he/she has secured at least 50% marks in the aggregate. However candidates who are deputed by the Government of Karnataka to the course are exempted from the above eligibility condition. UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION Eligibility criteria for the M.P.Ed. CBCS scheme for the year A. Courses Offered - a) Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) b) Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) B. Nature of Courses - 2 Years (4 Semesters) Eligibility criteria for the B.P.Ed. CBCS scheme for the year Any graduate of Bangalore University or of any other University recognized by the Bangalore University as equivalent thereto who is physically fit and satisfies any of the following conditions will be eligible for admission to B. P. Ed. Degree Course. a. Bachelor s Degree in any discipline with 50% marks and having at least participation in the Inter-College/Inter-Zonal/District/School competition in sports and games as recognized by the AIU/IOA/SGFI/Govt. of India. OR b. Bachelor s Degree in Physical Education with 45% marks. OR c. Bachelor s Degree in any discipline with 45% marks and studied physical education as compulsory elective subject. OR d. Bachelor s Degree with 45% marks and having participated in National/Inter University State competitions or secured 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd position in Inter College/Inter- Zonal/District/School competition in sports and games as recognized by the AIU/IOA/SGFI/Govt. of India. Bachelor s Degree with participation in international competitions or secured 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd position in National/Inter-University competition in sports and games as recognized by the respective federations/aiu/ioa/sgfi/govt. of India. OR f. Graduation with 45% marks and at least three years of teaching experience (for deputed in-service candidates i.e. trained Physical Education teachers/coaches. b) Eligibility for M.P.Ed. Minimum Requirement for Admission : 1. Pass in Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) Degree course of Bangalore University or of any other University considered as equivalent there to, securing at least 50% Marks. 2. Outstanding sports person means a candidate who has participated in recognized Inter-University/Interstate/International sports or games competitions. 3. All candidates shall produce a Medical fitness certificate issued by a medical Officer of not less than the rank of District Surgeon. Selection procedure for M.P.Ed course: Candidates shall be selected on the basis of merit. Merit shall be determined on the basis of candidate s performance in the qualifying examination, entrance test and his/her achievement in sports and games. The weightage shall be given as follow:- i) 40% marks obtained in the qualifying examination ii) 30% of marks obtained in the entrance test. iii) 30% Marks for physical fitness tests performance. Merit list will be announced as per above procedure. Seats will be allotted as per University guidelines. The reservation of seats will be as per existing State Government Policy.
