1 Marine Department Post-Secondary Student Summer Internship Programme 2012 Summer Intern (ITMS) No. of Vacancy: 1 Entry Requirements: Students undergoing full-time studies at a local or overseas tertiary institution in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 academic years studying Information Technology/Computer Science, or other relevant subject(s) acceptable to the Director of Marine, or equivalent, and with a view to obtaining a bachelor degree by summer 2013; Skills/Knowledge in Windows, MS Office and Dreamweaver are required; website maintenance, web programming, PHP Programming, JavaScript, HTML/XML, Apple iphone OS or Android SDK application development are preferred; and To assist in conducting a review on Marine Department (MD) websites including but not limited to the Hong Kong Shipping Directory and MD Intranet; To update the MD web pages after the review; and To develop simple computer programs. 9 project; and To assist in developing management report / record standard format to be used by the Section Stonecutters Island Summer Intern (MS) No. of Vacancy 2 Duration Entry Requirements: (i) Students undergoing full-time studies at a local or overseas tertiary institution in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 academic years studying Marine / Mechanical / Plant Engineering, or other relevant subject(s) acceptable to the Director of Marine, or equivalent, and with a view to obtaining a bachelor degree by summer 2013; or Marine / Mechanical / Plant Engineering, or other relevant subject(s) acceptable to the Director of Marine, or equivalent, and with a view to obtaining a Diploma / Higher Diploma / Associate Degree by summer 2013; Skills/Knowledge in Word, Excel, drawing and database programme (such as AutoCAD, Access, etc.) are preferable; and Duties : To develop standard formats for storing maintenance reports and records; and. 10 Salary : Terms & Conditions of Appointment : $7,700 per month Successful interns will be engaged on non-civil service appointment terms for a period of not more than eight weeks. Except otherwise provided, the rest day, statutory holiday, general holidays, sickness days and sickness allowance are generally in line with those provided for under the Employment Ordinance (Cap.57).
