Logistics ii) Bachelors degree with Lower 10 Masters in Business Administration Second Class Honours plus at 11 Masters of Science in Project Management least THREE years relevant Master of Science in Computer Systems experience iii) Bachelors degree with pass plus at least FIVE years relevant postgraduate experience 12 Master of Science in Software Engineering Holders of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Technology/Information Technology, Mathematics and Computer Science, and Electronic Engineering of at least Second Class Honours(Upper Division) of JKUAT Holders of a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline: Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics and Physics of at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science of a minimum Credit pass from an institution recognized by senate or an equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by Senate. Division) having studied Chemistry either as a single subject or as one of two science subjects at Bachelor Degree level or its equivalent from a university recognised by the Senate. Under exceptional circumstances a holder of at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) having studied chemistry either as a single subject or as one of two science subjects at Bachelors Degree level or its equivalent may be registered provided the candidate produces evidence of proven post graduate research ability 14 MSc Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology Holder of a Bachelors Degree with at least Second Class Honours(Upper division) in the following: Biochemistry or Molecular Biology Biological & Agricultural Sciences: Computer Science: Maths and/statistics: Physical Sciences Engineering and Health Sciences with sufficient background of biochemistry in undergraduate and Computer Sciences Those with Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in the above mentioned courses should in addition have three years post qualification working experience 15 MSc. Applied Statistics A Bachelors Degree in statistics with at least Upper Second Class Honours (Upper Division) A Bachelors in Mathematics & Majored in Statistics A holder of a quantitative degree not necessarily in statistics with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from JKUAT or any other University recognised by senate but with work experience in Statistics A holder of a Bachelors degree with Lower Class honours or Part time - evening weekends) 2

3 its equivalent may be eligible for registration provided the candidate can produce evidence of proven research ability in an appropriate branch of statistics. 16 Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Statistics A Bachelors degree in Statistics with at least second class honours- Lower Division A Bachelors in Mathematics & Majored in Statistics A holder of a quantitative degree not necessarily in Statistics with at least Lower Second Class honours from JKUAT or any other University recognised by the Senate but with relevant work experience in Statistics 17 M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics A holder of a Bachelors degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours, having studies Mathematics as a single subject or as a major of two subjects, with a substantial number of units of Applied Mathematics, studied at the degree level at JKUAT or any other University recognised by the Senate. Under exceptional circumstances a holder of a Bachelors degree with Lower Second Class Honours or its equivalent may be eligible for registration provided that the candidate can produce evidence of proven research ability in Applied Mathematics. In addition to meeting one of the requirements above, all students who are admitted to the course are expected to be proficient in at least one high level computer programming language. 18 M.Sc. in Pure Mathematics A holder of a Bachelors degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours, having studies Mathematics as a single subject or as a major of two subjects, with a substantial number of units of Pure Mathematics, studied at the degree level at JKUAT or any other University recognised by the Senate. Under exceptional circumstances a holder of a Bachelors degree with Lower Second Class Honours or its 1 year Part time (evening) 3

4 19 Post Graduate Diploma in: i) Procurement and Logistics ii) Human Resource Management iii) Entrepreneurship iv) Project Management equivalent may be eligible for registration provided that the candidate can produce evidence of proven research ability in Pure Mathematics. In addition to meeting one of the requirements above, all students who are admitted to the course are expected to be proficient in at least one high level computer programming language. Diploma in Information KCSE Mean Grade C and Grade C-(minus) in Mathematics and Technology (DIT) English Division II in KCE with at least a Credit pass in Mathematics and English KACE with Subsidiary Pass in Mathematics 2. Diploma in Business Information Technology (DBIT) 3. Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies KCSE Mean Grade C and Grade C-(minus) in Mathematics and English KCE Division III KCSE C- plus Certificate in Information Technology (CIT) Relevant discipline from an institution recognised by the University Senate Holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above. KCSE mean Grade C (plain) and C- in both Mathematics and English Other qualifications recognized by University Senate. 4. CERTIFICATE COURSES: SNO COURSE MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 1. Certificate in Information KCSE Mean Grade C-(minus) Technology Division III in KCE with a Credit Pass in Mathematics and English 2. Bridging Certificate in Mathematics For Certificate applicants: Aggregate Grade C in KCSE, Division III in KCE or the equivalent grade. For Degree &Diploma applicants: Aggregate Grade C+ in 3. Certificate in County Governance (3 months) (Full time KCSE, Division II in KCE or the equivalent grade. APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Applications will be made on prescribed forms obtained from the Campus Finance Department upon payment of nonrefundable fees of Kshs 1,500/= for Ph.D, Masters & Bachelors degree Courses, 1,000/= for all Diploma Courses and Kshs. 500/= for Bridging/Certificate Courses. Duly completed application forms with copies of certificates, transcripts/result slips, copy of ID and the copy of the application fee receipt should be returned to the Campus Administration Block by 28 TH MARCH, LOCATION: JKUAT Nairobi Campus is located about 10km from the City Centre on the Kabarsiran Avenue off Waiyaki Way, Next to Kianda School and opposite Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK).
