2 TM SEBI Registered RBI Accredited NSIC Empanelled Brickwork Ratings, a credit rating agency founded by bankers, former regulators, and credit rating professionals, is a SEBI registered credit rating agency with its corporate office in Bengaluru. It is also empanelled by NSIC and accredited by RBI for carrying out SME and bank loan ratings respectively. It has a country-wide presence through its branches at Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi along with representatives in 150+ locations. Brickwork is the first CRA to open office in Guwahati to serve the North eastern region. Brickwork Ratings has already rated a number of bank loans and bonds. The company has rated many listed entities, thousands of bank loans and MSME. Bank loan ratings cover all bank fund based and non fund based facilities like Cash Credit, Packing credit, term loans, letter of credit, bank guarantees etc. Brickwork Ratings has received the permanent registration from SEBI as per the SEBI circular No. SEBI/MIRSD/DR-2/ SRP/Cir-2/2005 dated January 4, 2005 The RBI has accorded Brickwork Ratings, the ECAI (External Credit Assessment Institution) status under Basel norms approving BWR as an eligible CRA for bank loans/facilities.

3 The need for B-School and Engineering College The Growth prospects of India are irrevocably tied to the quality of the educational system in the country. There is a growing demand for quality Institute both in middle and higher level education. Students are more willing today to relocate from their hometowns to study a course of interest in one of the better Institute. However, the choice of the Institute is dependent on the information availability. A student needs information on the following: a) Which course is he/she interested in? b) Where are these courses offered? c) Is there adequate information available to compare different Institutes across the country/state? 4 B-School / Engineering College Scale B-School gradings are assigned on two scales- National level grading scale and State level grading scale. The grading scales for both the National and State level progress from A to B. B-School gradings are assigned to Institutes which offer different programmes. B- School gradings can also be assigned for particular courses, if so desired by the Institute. SCALES State Level s are assigned with the suffix of the state in which the institute is located. For example, a B-School in Karnataka may be assigned a grade (KA), a marketing course in a B-School in Karnataka may be assigned a grade (Marketing) (KA). National Level s are assigned with the suffix of National. For example, a National level grading for a B-School may be assigned as (National), a marketing course in a B- School may be assigned a grade (Marketing) (National). Engineering College is assigned on a State level grading scale only. The State Level grading scale progresses from A to B, with A being the Highest Grade. Process The process for assigning a B-School and Engineering College is shown by the flow chart below: Mandate Information Collection Visit to the Institute & Management Discussions Publication of Issuance of letter, Rationale and Report Presentation to the Committee Mandate The grading mandate to undertake the grading of the B-School and Engineering College is signed between Brickwork Ratings and the Institute. Information Collection Brickwork Ratings will provide the Institute with the information requirement for grading. Visit to the Institute and Management Discussions Post review of the information provided, the analyst team will hold discussion with the management. Presentation to the Committee Based on the information provided and the discussions held, the analyst team presents the case to the Committee at Brickwork Ratings. Issuance of Letter, Rationale and Report Post the approval of the Committee, the analyst team issues the Letter, Rationale and Report to the Institute. Publication of the Post the exercise, the grading assigned and rationale is published in the website of Brickwork Ratings.
