The Commissioner of Technical Education & Chairman, State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P., Hyderabad has also stated that Osmania and Andhra Universities have recognised various Diplomas such as Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Diploma in Architecture and DAA etc. conducted by State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P., Hyderabad as equivalent to Intermediate of Andhra Pradesh for admission into B.E./B.Tech/ B.A./B.Com. /B.Sc. courses by Osmania and Andhra Universities area respectively. 3. The Commissioner of Technical Education & Chairman, State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P., Hyderabad has requested the Government that a clarification may be issued in this regard to all the Collectors including Collector, Ongole treating the Polytechnic Diploma Courses as equivalent to Intermediate for the purpose of employment also. 4. In the circumstances stated by the Commissioner of Technical Education, A.P., Hyderabad and after careful consideration, Government hereby direct that all Collectors including Collector, Ongole should consider the Diploma holders also for appointment to the Post of Junior Assistant under the scheme of compassionate appointments, provided the duration of study of the Diploma is equivalent to or longer than that of Intermediate. If the various diplomas as referred to in para 3 rd above having duration of study of such Diploma as equivalent to or longer than that of Intermediate, are treated as equivalent to Intermediate for the purpose of recruitment. G.O.Ms.No.927, LE & TE (TE) Dept., dt From the CTE & Chairman, SBTET., AP., Hyderabad Lr.No.SBTET/B2/860/97/Vol.I, dt :o0o:-- O R D E R: In the G.O. 1 st read above orders were issued to the effect that the candidates who passed in Diploma n Commercial and Computer Practice with Typewriting as special subject be recognised as equivalent to pass in Higher Grade Typewriting (English) conducted by State Board of Technical Education and Training, AP, Hyderabad provided the candidates secure 40% of marks in each of the papers of I, II & III i.e. oral and practical of the examination excluding sessional marks. The Commissioner of Technical Education & Chairman, State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P., Hyderabad has stated that the said order pertains to (RC) Revised Curriculum batch. In Revised Curriculum batch equivalency is given to the candidates provided their subject as elective subject and special subject of English Typewriting and Secretarial Practice. However, the curriculum content in New Curriculum (NC) scheme is an improved when compared to Revised Curriculum scheme in respect of Typewriting and Shorthand. Further electives were removed and all the subjects were made compulsory. Hence if equivalency certificate is to be given it is necessary to have a review of Government orders referred above. This issue was referred to a Committee constituted to make recommendation to Government in this behalf. Accordingly, the Committee in its meeting held on considered to give equivalency to such of those candidates who have passed Diploma in Commercial and Computer Practice with Shorthand and Typewriting as one of the subject can be treated as equivalent to that of Shorthand English Higher Grade and English Typewriting Higher Grade conducted by the board provided they secure 45% marks in the end examination of the subject concerned and successfully completed the 3 rd year Diploma in Commercial and Computer Practice course. 2. The Commissioner of Technical Education, A.P., Hyderabad has therefore requested the Government to review the orders issued in G.O. Ms. No. 927 LEN & TE (TE) Department, dt and issue suitable modification to the effect that the equivalency can be given to the NC-DCP candidates for which Typewriting and Shorthand were made compulsory instead of elective subjects. The Commissioner of Technical Education, A.P., Hyderabad has also requested the Government to extend the same orders to the students, who have passed Diploma in Commercial and Computer Practice of 3 years course with Shorthand as one of the subjects, keeping in view of the resolution made by the Board as mentioned above, so as to enable to issue equivalency certificate to the Diploma in Commercial and Computer Practice passed out candidates under NC Scheme, as well as C-90, C-96 schemes. 3.
