The Ph.D. Entrance Test will be conducted on 23 May 2016 followed by Interview as per schedule given below: Date, Time and Venue of the Ph.D. Entrance Test: The General Aptitude Test and Subject Specific Test will be held on 23 May 2016, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm at the Institute Main Building in the Institute s Campus at Mesra, Ranchi as mentioned against the names of the candidates (on reporting for the Test, please contact Controller of Examination at Mesra for Examination Hall / Room). The Test would consist of 2 parts: a) General Aptitude Test, common to all applicants, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am and, b) Subject Specific Tests, to examine basic fundamental knowledge in the subject, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm for candidates applied for only one Department 11:00 am to 12:30 pm & 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm for candidates applied for two Departments 11:00 am to 12:30 pm & 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm & 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm for candidates applied for three Departments. NB: The syllabi of the General Aptitude Test and the Subject Specific Tests for each Department can be seen on the Department profiles / admission notification on the Institute website. Date and Venue for Interviews: 23 May 2016, from 3:00 pm onwards at the concerned Department (Only such candidates, who obtain the minimum required marks in Aptitude Test and Subject Specific Test will be considered for interview, as given in selection procedure below). Selection Procedures: Selection to the Ph.D. programmes would be based on performance in a Written Test, Previous academic record and an Interview. 2 Contd. from page 1 Exempted from the Entrance Test: The following category of candidates are exempted from taking entrance test for Ph.D. programme (Session MO 2016) Candidates who have qualified in 1. UGC-JRF 2. CSIR-NET 3. Any other national level test for pursuing Ph.D. However, they will be required to follow the rest of the admission process as per the schedule and fulfill all other requirement as per the Ph.D. Regulations.
