3 1. Admission Guidelines/Department and Major 1.1. Review the admission guidelines 1) Click Admission Guidelines and select a language. 3

4 1.2. Find your department and/or major 1 Academics - Departments & Majors: Select from departments and/or majors. 2 Click on Go to Homepage and review the introduction, website, and curriculum of the selected department. 4

5 2. Online Application 2.1. Go to online application website 1) Click on Online Application and go to the online application website. 2) Click on Proceed to the application after checking the guidelines, application fee payment methods, and instructions. 5

6 2.2. Register with the Uwayapply system 1) Click on Sign Up and create an account for your online application. 2) Agree to the collection of personal information. 6

7 3) Choose Yes, I have a phone number in Korea or No, I don t have a phone number, and then input your name, date of birth, phone number or address. 4) Write your name in Korean or English without any spaces (e.g., JohnSmith). 7

8 5) Complete your account application out and click on Confirm. 8

9 2.3. Agreement to the collection of personal information 1) After clicking on Agree or Confirmed for the following five agreements, proceed to the application. 1 Collection and Usage of Personal Information Agreement 2 Personally Identifiable Information Collection and Usage Agreement 3 Agreement on the Delegation of the Processing of Personal Information 4 Confirmation of Qualifications for Application 5 Confirmation of the Prevention of False Applications and False Qualifications for Applications 9

Input your application information 1) Input basic application information 1 Program Confirm the time limits for course study, credits required for completion of coursework and terms for the graduation process for each program from the graduate school website: Academics - Academic Affairs - Registration 2 Application Type If you and your parents are all foreign citizens, please choose the first type even if you completed your entire 16 years of education abroad. 3 Language Proficiency Requirements Select all the language requirements you meet. 4 Department / Specific Major Visit the graduate school website: Academics Departments & Majors 10

11 2) Input Personal Information 1 Alien Registration No. Please only fill this in if you have an alien registration card. 2 Location of Applicant In Korea: Current Visa Type and Date of Visa Expiration are mandatory. Out of Korea: If you reside outside of Korea or in Korea without a visa. 3 Current Address/Permanent Address Current Address: your current address for postal mail Permanent Address: your overseas home address for emergency contact information 4 Address Admission notices and results will be sent to the first address listed. 11

12 3) Input Academic Information 1 The following academic information is required for each program - Master s program: Bachelor s degree - Ph.D. program: Bachelor s degree, Master s degrees - Integrated Master s and Ph.D. program: Bachelor s degree If you have more than one Bachelor s or Master s degree, select and input the one that is most related to the major you are applying for. The documents for the additional degree can be submitted without inputting information. 2 Name of school Find your school in English and select it. If it is not listed, please enter it manually. If there are two or more results for the same university, please select the first one. 3 GPA If no GPA is included on your official transcripts, please choose None, but you cannot apply for a scholarship without official verification of your GPA. If the university s GPA scale differs from that of our scholarship requirements, convert it with the GPA conversion table. * If you have two GPAs because of a dual degree or transfer, you can apply for the scholarship only if both GPAs meet the scholarship requirements. 12

13 4) Input Language Proficiency and Scholarship Application 1 Language Proficiency Input the language proficiency test scores for the test(s) you selected for the language proficiency requirements (p. 10). Only language proficiency test score(s) received within two years of the application deadline are valid. If your language proficiency results do not meet the scholarship requirements, you cannot apply for a scholarship. 2 Type of Scholarship You can apply for a scholarship if your GPA from your previous (latest) school and the language proficiency results you entered (pp. 12, 13) meet the scholarship requirements. Scholarship Requirements: (Graduate School homepage) Scholarships Scholarships Scholarships will be awarded through a recommendation by the screening committee of the department and the approval of the dean of the graduate school. The results will be announced within two weeks of the admission decision notice. 13

14 5) Agreement for Release of Information 1 Name of Institution, Name of Degree, Department and Major, Period of Attendance, and Date of (Expected) Graduation are entered automatically. 2 Number of Registered Semesters is mandatory. 3 Please fill out the address and contact information for the office or staff in charge of your previous (latest) university records as best as possible. You may get the information from the university website or phone inquiries. 14

15 6) Upload a Picture and Save It Add picture Adjust size Upload 1 Please upload an appropriate picture by following the instructions. 2 After uploading the picture, click the SAVE button to proceed. 3 If the required input is omitted, you will be guided by a pop-up window. 15

16 2.5. Pay the application fee 1) Check the application information you input and click on MODIFY if necessary. 2) After checking your information, click on PAYMENT to pay the application and commission fees. 3) Please make sure to check your application information carefully because you will not be able to modify it after making the payment. 16

17 4) Click on 결제 (Pay) to proceed with the payment. 5) If you are paying from outside of Korea, you can pay with an international credit card. 6) Choose the preferred credit card type and input the card number and expiration date. 7) Acceptable credit cards: VISA, MASTER, JCB 17

18 2.6. Confirm the application number and printouts 1) Confirm your Applicant Number and printouts after making the payment. 1 Checklist Prepare the documents in the order listed on the checklist. 18

21 3. Documents Submission 3.1.
